RasmussenReports' new daily tracking poll has President Barrack Obama receiving his lowest approval rating since immediately after the election, 56%. 43% of Americans generally disapprove of his performance, 31% strongly do.
Obama's approval rating was immediately after the election was 52%. As is typical after an election (according to longer-standing polls, such as Gallup), America put aside its partisan feelings, giving the newly elected the benefit of the doubt: his approvals rose to 67% over the course of the next month, peaking at 69%. They stayed in that range, which was high even for a newly elected president, until inauguration day.
Since his inauguration, Obama's presidential approval index (Rasmussen's measure of strong approval minus strong disapproval) plunged by nearly three quarters. Within a week, his approval rating reached 60%; It;s fluctuated slightly within each week, bouncing as high as 63%, but his weekly approval rating average has declined each week.
Each new low has occurred over a weekend; each midweek sees his approval ratings bounce slightly, so he may be slightly better off then 56%. A week ago, he polled at 58%, and Newsweek's most recent poll matches that. Fox News, on the other hand is closer to 63%.
Other presidents' approval ratings have surged in this time. President George W. Bush was inaugurated with approval ratings barely cracking 50%, but they surged to the mid-60s. Reagan's moved from the mid-50s to nearly 70%. George H.W. Bush's reached the high 70s. Clinton moved to the mid-60s; Kennedy and Carter also reached the 70s. Only the unelected Gerald Ford saw his approval ratings decline so soon after inauguration.
How selfish of you*. You’re not getting rid of Sebelius, you’re foisting her on the rest of the nation!
(* I hope you realize that’s a little tongue in cheek.)
30 days, at best. Then he’ll have to crack open a fresh contrived crisis to keep the scam going.
And relative newbie, what are you saying? Please explain so we all can see the direction your comment came from.
In other words, the polls don't mean much.
Take our Governor -—
PLEASE!
Rush has been explicit: Obama wants the ecomony to collapse. Rush has not been pulling his punches on this.
It seems to be forgotten: the lying ad Obama ran with the audio of Rush.
*Honey,I shrunk the honeymoon.*
LOL!
Yeah, I’ve been hearing some conservatives being freaked out that Obama still has pretty good approval ratings. I think this puts that in context a little.
I've NEVER commented to you ever...that I am aware of....And you know nothing about me.
You need to calm down, take a deep breath, and ask yourself one question:
Calm down....??! LOL!! I have no problems at all....I asked you a question. That up to now you have not answered..Maybe you answer it down below??
Who has done more for the prolife cause, me or Sam Brownback
Once again...you have no idea who I am or what I have done.
And, even after that question, and this decision, your honest answer should be:
Sam Brownback
Our conservative leaders should not have to worry about stoking the egos and affirming the jugment and fragile identies of the prolife movement.
You don't like Sebelius? Guess what, we agree!
You don't want Sebelius to be HHS Secretary? Well, great, then Sebelius stays in Kansas, protects Tiller for another 2 years, and then Sebelius moves to the United States Senate.
And, all the while, the stealth proabort, who might run HHS, instead of Sebelius, does EXACTLY the same things in that job, as Sebelius would have done!
WHAT, exactly, does your plan accomplish?????
I never said I had a plan...I asked you ONE question. LOL!!!
And, I agree to a point that you really did kinda hijack this thread.
What are you talking about?????? Once again....I asked you one question!! ROFLOL!!!
However, part of Obamas decline IS because of Obamas radical social views, which were hidden by the media, until now.
Well...okay. Thanks for the non-answer.......
And those were very different times with more faith in our elected leaders and more unity in the nation, and a media that was more respectful of the president. My mother is a fairly staunch lifelong Democrat. (However, I did persuade her to vote against Obama.) I attribute her almost religious fervor about the Democratic party to when she was a little girl and the war was going on and she was scared. As my grandfather tucked her into bed one night, she asked him, “Is it true the Nazis might come across the ocean and attack us?” My grandfather, and I’m sure he fully believed this, replied with absolute confidence, “Don’t you worry, President Roosevelt won’t let them!”
Nice job of carrying through that messiah metaphor to create greater meaning of what is being discussed. :-)
Hmmm. I wonder why. Could it be that people who work during the week and are therefore not home to answer the phone poll except on weekends don't think as highly of Obama as people who can lounge around all day.
The honeymoon went right over Niagara Falls. The Obama Meltdown Continues.
Pray for America, Our Troops and obama’s Continued Failure
FDR was venerated as a former elitist governor of NY State who had run for VP in 1920. He was also the cousin of Teddy Roosevelt. Plus he was in a wheelchair.
People also in the 1930’s were mostly religious and may have thought certain things about FDR but would not voice them aloud for public consumption as it would have been considered a breach of decorum or propriety. Thus the traditional MSM at the time did not normally impugn FDR’s motives or question his personal life; the greater majority did not believe he would dismantle the Constitution (although he did want to increase the Court bench) and the movies of the 1930’s were generally progressive in tone, viewed by millions and millions of conservatives who did not see media bias and who were at least tolerant to the New Deal.
Rush Limbaugh could not have done as well in the 1930’s.
Now let’s go the late 1980’s, 1990’s up to the present:
1)religion in America is no longer paramount to many millions; America is becoming more secular and amoral
2) it is not indiscrret to talk about sexual liaisons and politicians in the same breath
3) conservatives definitely detect a media bias in the MSM and Hollywood
4) the Democrats are becoming more socialistic in its beliefs and the reps they send to Washington
Enter Rush Limbaugh. Do you really think that the Messiah would now have 43% of the American public disagreeing with him only 45 days into his Presidency if it were not for Rush Limbaugh and his speech to cPAC last Saturday?
That’s what she said!
(Sorry, couldn’t resist for and ‘The Office’ lovers out there)
After a while the excuse that he “inherited” it won’t matter at all. If it isn’t fixed, he will fry in GWB’s frying pan.
LOL! WE’ve been calling them 201/2’s
HA!!!!
You said it in a nutshell, wish we could post your statement on the front page of every newspaper. That’s what most people still cannot fathom, that this is not just minor policy differences, economic strategy, or republican or democrat, but an attempted coup. A thousand different threads all lead to this conclusion, in Obama’s past and his radical-left supporters.
Now that Obama has been stupid enough to throw Rush into the limelight, Rush will say it like it is and maybe the truth will penetrate the couch potatoes and freeloaders that they are about to LOSE their freedoms, not gain more.
So, YES, I think you should calm down.
Turn around, you are shooting at your friends, hurting your friends, when your bullets should be used on the real enemy!
