'Obama is overwhelmed.' (Administration admits he's in over his head)
National Review Online ^ | 3/8/09 | Jim Garaghty

Posted on 03/09/2009 5:45:12 AM PDT by teddyballgame

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister... ...The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

"That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they're finding it a hard thing to do everything."

Tjhe spin over the week-end and this morning is that Obama is "taking too much on" and "trying to do too much". I got news for you Obama this isn't the Illinois Senate. You're the President of the United States, you better start learning how to deal with more than one issue at a time, rookie.

Really? I never would have guessed.

I’m sure our enemies are completely in the dark on his inability, too. /sarc

What till the $hit hits the fan on one foreign front...and there are many percolating. That’s when I’m afraid his inability to lead will coming shining through. Oboomba, the Great Delegator.

Wasn’t there a point during the campaign last year about “doing more than one thing at a time?”

Something to do with a debate?

UPDATE on Obama: “Presidents need to be able to do more than one thing at a time”

What a message to send to our enemies!!!

Our nation is leaderless and open to attack.

Sending her heinousness around the world begging for friendship is likely to show just how weak and vulnerable we truly are.

The community organizer has never had a real job in his whole life. He's been carried by the Saudis since the day he was born. He knew he wasn't qualified for the job, but his ego had to have it anyway.

Reap what you've sown, Oboma.

This is BS. They’ve spent the days since the Inauguration proposing or passing every liberal bill, and signing every liberal executive order, that they can possibly think of. It’s the public that’s been overwhelmed, not the clowns in the Administration.

IIRC, his buddy Deval Patrick, the governor of Taxachusetts, “Mr. Gas Tax”, also pulled the same crap soon after being elected, but blamed his wife. These affirmative action empty suits have got to go. They have no idea what the “function is” and little understanding of the “form”. Wagyu beef and an American DVD collection for a head of state. Imbecile.

Perhaps he should step down if he is unable to cope with the extreme duty of being POTUS.

This is no excuse, especially in light of the fact he and Michelle party and flit around the country on Air force One campaigning and going on constant vacations.

This was a very big mistake electing this unqualified person as a leader.

That same job was done by:

People who accomplished more in any one month of their lives than this guy has ever done (Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, etc)

A cripple in a wheelchair who waged a world war (FDR)

The mastermind of D-Day who was 62 when elected and solderied on despite a heart attack and a stroke while in office(Ike)

A couple of basically decent men who were slandered and defamed every day by a hate-filled media (Nixon and Dubya)

A man who was 69 when elected, who was shot soon after taking office (Reagan)

Whatever FDR did or didn’t do during the depression, stocks went UP after he took office.

Reagan had to fix the Carter debacle, and Nixon had to fix the JFK/LBJ mess-Vietnam, riots, etc.

And:
None of the above men-or the others have ever whined so much, and so soon about doing a job that they sought and that they assured the public they were the man for.

But Washington figures with access to Mr Obama's inner circle explained the slight by saying that those high up in the administration have had little time to deal with international matters, let alone the diplomatic niceties of the special relationship.

It seems like President Bush had a very full plate from day one too--I don't remember his administration acting overwhelmed and using it as an excuse to treat foreign dignitaries in a less than traditional manner.

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

Problem: No money in America
Solution: Spend like crazy

Problem: No time for Obama to scratch his butt
Solution: Take a vacation
