‘Today’: Cramer-Stewart War Rages On
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Another day, another round in the battle between Jim Cramer and Jon Stewart. Let’s do a quick recap before proceeding to today’s skirmish. As reported here, last week on Today Cramer accused Pres. Obama of the “the greatest wealth destruction I’ve seen by a president.” In retaliation, Jon Stewart, playing the good Obama foot soldier, has tried to undermine Cramer’s credibility by playing clips on the Daily Show of Cramer’s less-than-spot-on stock recommendations. Cramer has fired back, including in this lengthy column.

OK, stage set. With Cramer and fellow CNBCer Erin Burnett as guests this morning, Meredith Vieira observed that Warren Buffett had said the economy has “fallen off a cliff.” Cramer joshed that the Obama admin should attack Buffett as they had the “little guys,” a reference to himself and the way White House press secretary Robert Gibbs had gone after him. It was Meredith’s response that really touched things off . . .

I would not be at all surprised to see Stewart run for office. He pontificates on Larry King routinely, just like Franken used to. King and Oprah are now in charge of elections.

Mr. Cramer, do not give in to your liberal critics. You dared to tell the truth something that is anathema to liberals everywhere.

Cramer is a stock speculator, who acts like a clown to attract viewers. Stewart is a clown, who acts like he knows about serious stuff to attract viewers.

In fairness, the first time Stewart played a clip of Cramer discussing Bear Stearns, it was out of context because Cramer was not recommending the stock, only telling people their deposits there were safe—which they were. But on last night’s show Stewart dug out some slightly earlier footage in which Cramer definitely was urging people to buy Bear Stearns stock. You can see it in the video clip of Today at FinkelBlog.

I watched Stewart last night and was wondering why he took off after Cramer. Now I know why.

Jon Stewart is a Comedian.

That’s a stretch and a half if I ever heard one.

Cramer was surprised that the libs now attack everything he does or says, and the conservatives are open-minded and civil to him. Maybe he’s seen the light.

Ha, I love watching Mad Money. Last night, Cramer was doing everything other than wearing an O shirt to mea culpa to the dim crowd. He's caught in a tug of war between truth and ideology. He wants to wear the Dim clothing, talk Dim, be Dim, but he wants to enjoy that luxury known as the "Truth", something Dims sneer at like a vampire at the sun. Can't have it both ways, Cramer.

Yup, attack the Messiah, expect retaliation from his disciples.

Yeah, well they also have an easy target in Cramer.

WTH? Jon Stewart is a Comedian.

A comedian in name only. The guy doesn't even write his own stuff.

Circuses and bread. This constitutes the circus part of the equation.

The bad news is that there is no bread..

Well said!! Cramer is definately trying to attract attention with his comments. He is annoying and I can’t stand to watch him. Stewart is a comedian, who can be funny at times. He does cover serious stuff, but makes it clear that it is “fake news”. The idiots that use it as a source of information are just as stupid as those who think that Cramer has any decent financial advice to give.

There are plenty of sources for good financial information, and Cramer is not one of them. there are plenty of good places to get your political news, John Stewart isn’t one of them.

Anybody who treats Cramer as anything more than a carnival barker has no business playing in the market with the grownups.

And ironically, Cramer is a liberal.

Stewart, aka Jon Leibowitz has what Olbermann has and what has been confirmed by ex- lovers...small penis syndrome. The syndrome is marked by excessive self loathing and being hostile and hypercritical of others. His inability to satisfy a woman intellectually and physically has him emotionally constipated. He bouncing from one ultra submissive damaged woman to another in which he bullies and ridicules into a self fulfilling prophesy of a nasty and contentious breakup. Small penis sufferers have an unhealthy attachment to a Mother figure and refuse to grow emotionally past the college Junior phase of human development. Wearing 20’s hipster clothes and using phraseology of the hip hop generation to remain relevant to a younger audience which seems to devour his brand of mouth diarrhea is a tell tale sign of men with SPS. Small penis syndrome sufferers naturally gravitate towards others with their cynical, negative worldview. They view all others including the ones in their peer group as ignorant rubes not in tune with the world in what they view it through their perfect prism.

Some people just can't seem to wrap their heads around the concept that when you say something on the record, it can come back to bite you on the butt.

A Comedian...wouldn’t one need to actually be funny to claim the designation?

Jon Stewart us a comedian in much the same way that Bill Maher and Janeane Garofalo are comedians. Theyre about as funny as a screen door in a submarine or a rubber crutch.
