Posted on 03/11/2009 9:57:28 AM PDT by Notwithstanding

The press never reported that Democratic strategist James Carville said he wanted President Bush to fail before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. But a feeding frenzy ensued when radio host Rush Limbaugh recently said he wanted President Obama to fail.

The real question is, why is Rush hoping that Obama and his policies fail news?

The answer: media bias.

That’s a good point. I guess it’s news because it’s not news. It’s worth pointing out that we don’t even blink at this kind of absurdity anymore, we’re so used to the bias.

more excerpts:

...

On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”

Carville was joined by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, who seemed encouraged by a survey he had just completed that revealed public misgivings about the newly minted president.

“We rush into these focus groups with these doubts that people have about him, and I’m wanting them to turn against him,” Greenberg admitted.

...

Minutes later, as news of the terrorist attacks reached the hotel conference room where the Democrats were having breakfast with the reporters, Carville announced: “Disregard everything we just said! This changes everything!”

The press followed Carville’s orders, never reporting his or Greenberg’s desire for Bush to fail...

And the Dem plan to “help” Bush fail was already well under way.

They had already wrested control of the Senate away from the GOP, when they “helped” Sen. Jim Jeffords see the advantages of leaving the GOP in May.

This is pretty big in the inside the beltway world of back and forth politics. Please cut and paste this and send to Drudge, Malkin, and your media contacts:

I have never understand how Mary Matalin could have ever married Carville...forget about “love is blind”...in their case, it must have been “deaf, dumb & BLIND!” lol

This is just semantics.

I want the Obamessiah to "succeed" in the sense I always want peace and prosperity for the country.

That said, it ain't gonna happen, because his policies have never succeeded in doing that. And I don't want his anti-growth, anti-business, high tax, soft on terrorism policies to succeed, either, which is Rush's point.

This is great reporting by Sammon.
Wonder who his sources are?

We need to find out which “journalists” were present.

They subsequently failed to perform their professinal DUTY to report this once Carville attacked Limbaugh for saying the same damn thing.

They should be fired presently, no questions asked.

More and more, I am convinced that we need to systmatically expose the private lives, controversies, and mistakes of all journlaists - from the smallest local newsroom to the top.

They need the same damn scrutiny that they impose on others.

The difference is that Rush is a private citizen vs Carville
who was and still is part of the DNC. They should have brought that all out on Carville and Pollster, Stanley Greenberg.
I know Rush is a radio personality, but that's his job, but its no different than you or I writing a letter to the editor.

If it was just any old democrat, it would not be that big. Keep in mind Carville is part of the team that has daily meetings with Obama's people and CNN to come up with an anti Rush strategy. The MAIN weapon they came up with is Rush's quote about wanting Obama to fail.
