U.S. President Barack Obama will not cut the billions of dollars in military aid promised to Israel, a senior U.S. administration official said Wednesday. The $30 billion in aid promised to Israel over the next decade will not be harmed by the world financial crisis, the official told Israel Radio. He spoke on condition of anonymity.

Don't know if I approve of 30b in foreign aid to ANY country. Especially now.

Course it might come wrapped in a few more strings than usual. Obama likes to tie his packages really well.

“Don’t know if I approve of 30b in foreign aid to ANY country. Especially now.”

Ditto.

We need to end all foreign aid, not only to Israel but to Egypt and Jordan. We can’t afford it and Israel is a big boy now. It can take care of itself.

We need to end all foreign aid,...

Even if we have to stop paying presidential wages?

In fact new strings are already attached as to how and where it can be “spent”

I politely beg to differ - Israel is our only true ally in the Mid-east that we can count on when the chips are down and we are in a new shooting war with the Arabs and/or Persians (Iran)

It certainly seems to be Obama’s modus operandi: control the money and use it to jerk people around to his way of thinking. Limiting aid money to “defense” is a truly evil tactic intended to keep Israel from even discerning the threats against it, much less preparing for it.

“We need to end all foreign aid, not only to Israel but to Egypt and Jordan.”

Lockheed and General Dynamics are too powerful a “lobby.”

BTW, what is it with all these 10 Year Plans of Obama?

Lenin and Stalin only had 5 Year Plans.

We have already provided Israel with over $100 billion in assistance since it became a nation. U.S. Assistance to Israel (FY1949 - FY2006)

Like most Americans, I'm not very politically correct and am biased in favor of our allies. We should give military aid to our allies--including Israel--and defeat our enemies.

Most Americans Support Right of Jews to Live and Build in Judea-Samaria

"By a margin of nearly five to one, Americans oppose the Bush administration's demand to halt all further Jewish construction in Judea-Samaria (the West Bank) and Gaza . . . The poll, carried out by John McLaughlin & Associates, surveyed a scientific sample of 1,000 American adults on May 21, 2003."

As for Iran, Pakistan and Syria, we should invade, occupy and denazify them.

And as for our neo-Nazis, we should exile them to the countries of their Islamo-fascist friends.

Count on them for what? Israel, like any other country, puts Israel first and uses espionage just like any other country. Ever heard of the Pollard spy trial? Where do you intend to get the money to keep subsidizing them? Obama’s printing press?

Obviously you, I and others hold vastly differing views and opinions as to whether or not it makes sense to continue offering major military aid to Israel - for example much of that “aid” is spent purchasing armaments and weapons systems designed and made in America - thus keeping defense contractor workers employed and technology being progressed - thus IMO there is no real need for you to be quite so sarcastic

You need to read Bastiat, Hazlitt, and Friedman who have repeatedly refuted this economic reasoning. They long ago exposed this Keynesian/Obamaite fallacy that government can create jobs out of thin air. It can't. All it does it take some money from the taxpayers (thus destroying jobs in the private sector) in order to "create jobs" for the recipients of tax money, such as welfare workers and defense contractors.
