Iran: A Russian general has issued a public warning about the dangers posed by the Islamist regime in Tehran. Is further confirmation needed to convince the West that the dithering United Nations isn't the answer?
Dvorkin, who heads Moscow's Center for Strategic Nuclear Forces, said, "Iran has long abandoned outdated missile technologies and is capable of producing sophisticated missile systems."
Dvorkin doesn't believe Iran is capable yet of building an intercontinental ballistic missile that can carry a nuclear warhead, "but they will most likely be able to threaten the whole of Europe."
Iran has made a mockery of the U.N.'s demands that it halt its nuclear program, which could produce an atomic weapon next year if not sooner. Its belligerence will only grow more outrageous after it has built a nuclear weapon that it can use "to expand its support of terrorist organizations, including Hamas and Hezbollah," Dvorkin said. Nuclear capability will give it the leverage it needs to try to dominate the entire Middle East.
Dvorkin doesn't strike us as a crank out to trouble the waters. He spent much of his career deeply involved in strategic arms talks, helping the Soviet Union draw up its positions on a number of weapons pacts. His warning is not only for the West, but directed toward Russia as well. He is getting a message that many in the U.S. and Europe are too timid to listen to.

Something here doesn’t make sense.
If this article is true, it would suggest that Russia may be worried about an Iran with nukes. Lots of Muslims in Russia and surrounding areas. I doubt such a high ranking general would make such comments without approve from higher ups.
"His warning is not only for the West, but directed toward Russia as well."
You are referring to the disconnect between the General's warning and the Russian governments sale of technology to Iran.
Hmmm.
It does seem suspicious, but perhaps the General doesn't feel the need to tow the party line of Putin. Plus, the Russians are evil and clever, but they often aren't all that smart. Perhaps Nikita the K's quip about the US selling Russia the rope to hang us, is turning into a projection of Russia selling Iran the technology to nuke Russia.
Just possibly.
“Something here doesnt make sense.”
In the past few weeks, Putin cautioned the US about leaning towards Socialism/Communism.
Yesterday or today, China is concerned about the US debt.
Today a Russian General is warning of danger from Islamics.
Perhaps what doesn’t make sense is that OTHER countries are warning us, or are more concerned than our government appears to be (to them?). (our leadership is spending money on their wish lists)
That’ my initial interpretation. (?)

Yes.
Something is going on.
One thing for certain: 0bama is not going to look out for the best interests of the United States.
Maybe our enemies are trying to slow 0bama down a bit. As in: Don’t take the Big Guy down quite so fast; we still need some things from him. ??
“In other words, they are trying to save us from ourselves?”
I tend to believe so.
We need all the help we can get and it hasn’t even been two months. (nothing that hasn’t been said by our leadership, either — ‘cept for the 2 month part)
Alternatively, a worthy adversary is due respect. (just a thought, interpret as you desire)

Under 0bama, they have no respect for us....only contempt; because they respect strength and resolve.
Hell, I don’t know. I do know 0bama is very, very bad for the USA.

We agree.
Other nations seem to be worried about 0bama as it might affect them, in a manner unlike anything that they normally would or have encountered (and can’t control as they might with a smaller nation such as NK, Ven, Cuba etc?)
Interesting times.

They know that the United States was always a stabilizing force in the world.
Now they are nervous. 0bama is dangerous for everyone.
>> In other words, they are trying to save us from ourselves?
I have similar suspicions - but also to save the World from itself. God forbid the US disassembles, so goes World stability.
President Imanutjob deserves to receive a nuclear bomb by special delivery on top of each of his nuclear reactor and labratory sites. Please Bibi do that. One day of nuke bombing glassing out the Iranian threat and the arabs will probably shut up for a while. And of course the persians will have been bombed back to the 9th century. What is wrong with this idea?

As I (and perhaps you) grew up with/learned, that term: balance of power.
We’re concerned about Iran about gaining nuc power since we’re unsure of the stability of their leadership to control it’s usage. (same as happened with all others who entered the field, learned and abided)
It was Mutual Destruction that prevented use.
Not so sure with the (suicidal) regimes now gaining access.
The power in this country (financial/military) resides within some untried and untested on the job trainees.
Either of which can be a threat to not only us, but all countries.
I’ll take my chances with global warming/cooling/change, thank you very much.
That's exactly what it sounds like.
Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.
Oh, dear...
Brilliant Uncas. Ain’t truth stranger than fiction these days?
So, despite the fact our Hollywood ambassadors went over there to Iran to spread the....love. Iran doesn’t love us now. Even thought we elected Obama. I thought everyone was supposed to love us now?
And it’s pretty cheeky of Russia to warn about Iran when they dismissed Obama’s backdoor appeal to work with us on the nuclear threat.
Hm it seems like somehow someone’s secretly begging Israel to take care of the problem.
courtesy possible misdirected, dropped ping address?

I never thought it would come to the point where our enemies are trying to help us. But they need our technology, money and anything else useful to them and 0bama is so socialist that it would be detrimental to them. The supply would run out faster than they would want.
Something’s going on. And Hitlery is only in it for herself.
She shouldn’t have even gotten to the confirmation {Sec. State} stage.
“Something here doesnt make sense.”
Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.
It strikes me as kinda odd, too.
