Limbaugh gets big time support from Dick Cheney

Not that it will ever happen but if it did, give former Vice President Cheney a front row seat.

Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union this morning, Cheney weighed in on Rush Limbaugh’s challenge to debate President Obama.

“Hell, I’d pay to see that,” Cheney said. “I think Rush is a good man.”

Kryptonite

What about the claim last week from another conservative who said Limbaugh is kryptonite?

Anything but, said Cheney.

“Rush is a good friend. I love him. I think he does great work and has for years.”

Twitter

Reactions from this morning’s appearance are wide ranging and mostly negative on Twitter so far.

Rosierifka says bring on Jon Stewart: “So disappointing interview w/ dick Cheney and john king - no hard follow up at all - wish jon stewart was asking the ?s!”

Cloudbrain comments on the state of the newspaper industry: “CNN just asked Cheney if he sleeps in now and reads newspapers. He said he reads them on his blackberry. Ouch. Papers really r in trouble.”

I agree, Limbaugh is a good man and does good work.

He is not, however, a genius, a leader, a savior or the best hope of all mankind.

The mindless gushing from the left about Obama is sickening.

It's no better when it comes from our side and is directed at Limbaugh.

When it comes to Republicans, Cheney is a vanishing breed unfortunately. We need a lot more like him.

Oh there are a few in WA, some veteran types, and a few new up and coming. But more and more we see the RINO types, and that does not bode well for the party.

Dick Cheney was probably the best VP we've had, certainly the best in my lifetime. If obama was even half as good at being the President that Cheney was at being VP, we'd be in very good hands. Sadly, that's not even close to being the situation we face.

This is how to answer these inane media questions. Why do most of the other idiots in the GOP today dance around and not answer the question. They are weak and that's why they are losers. Rush is a tremendous voice for conservative principles....period. Be confident, GOP because conservatism is right and is the right solution.

"He is not, however, a genius, a leader, a savior or the best hope of all mankind."

Please show me where anyone claimed Rush Limbaugh was any of those things. He has a conservative issues radio show! He's not the RNC chairman, a politician, a messiah or any of that. On the other hand, he has the largest audience in the United States, and it's growing (thanks to Team Obama) by leaps and bounds.

I’ll be willing to bet GWB would say exactly the same thing about Rush.

Read almost any thread having to do with him.

It gets quite deep into the realm of worship.

David Frum said Rush is Kryptonite. RNC Steele called him incendiary and ugly. Is that the mindless gushing from our side you had in mind? Sorry Swee'pea, you need to get out more.

humblegunner seems to have only one pathetic mission in life, staying alert for any thread mentioning Rush Limbaugh and jumping in to make derogatory comments.

I intend to ignore him and I suggest that everyone do that.

I don’t hear it re Limbaugh. I think people are supportive of him and irked that he is being attacked, but I don’t see folks worshiping Limbaugh. Obama, yes, they are swooning and there’s no middle ground.

Totally different.

However much one might like Rush's message & his superlative ability to deliver that message — it's dangerous to allow your opponents (the Dems & their fellow-travellers) to personify that message.

Check Alinsky’s “Rule 12”. That's clearly the strategy they're following.

I wish we had more adults with backbones like this in Congress. There were three possible reactions to the MSM/DEM assault on Rush, this one, bemusement that the President would take on a radio guy, or what the pubbies did. They had a 2-1 shot at getting it right, and screwed it up.

Cheney is confident in who he is and never has bowed down to anyone. Remember what he told the press when they asked him about Libby. “He was my friend!”

So you agree with CINO David Frum, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, WH Political Advisor David Axelrod, Present_ent Barack Obama, WH Press Secretary Gibbs and that crowd? Did Mr. Limbaugh offend you by his three marriages? Is his wealth a bone in your throat? He was making $15,000 a year just 25 years ago, and now makes upwards of $100 million a year. Is that it?

I'm pretty sure Limbaugh would be the first to agree with you. It's the Obama administration and his Obamacorns who are accusing him of being all those things.
