Some Catholics Disappointed in Obama

He garnered the majority of Catholic votes in the 2008 election, but a number of Catholic groups now say President Obama is showing a complete lack of regard for their beliefs. They count his decisions to lift restrictions on abortion and stem cell research among the most offensive. "As far as the Catholic church goes, there's no bigger priority for Catholics than human dignity and human life," said Cathy Ruse, senior fellow at the Family Research Council said. "And the Obama administration has just been an assault on those values again and again in just two months."

“The Church also gave ACORN $6 million to help elect Obama. Total insanity. The Church in the USA is very liberal. The Pope must be disgusted with them.”

If there is a “D” after a candidate’s name you will ALWAYS be disappointed.

Not true!

I’ve never been disappointed by one because

1. I never had any expectations that I would like what a Democrat would do.

2. I never have voted for one.

Some of the “Catholics” who voted for Obama are leftist dissidents. But a fair number of them were probably just ignorant.

Frankly, the statement of the US bishops’ conference on the politics of abortion, issued last summer, although orthodox in principle, was exceedingly stupid, because it seemed to qppear racism with abortion as equally serious sins. They are not, unless by “racism” you mean actually going out and killing people.

Also, McCain was an ass. He barely raised this issue, and he completely discredited himself with Evangelicals by treating them with confusion and disrespect. The same with Catholics. He should have attacked Obama as an extreme baby killer, who three times voted to let children die who are born alive; but he refused to do it.

In other words, there was a lot of ignorance, helped along by everyone who should have been outing Obama for what he really represents.

"As far as the Catholic church goes, there's no bigger priority for Catholics than human dignity and human life," said Cathy Ruse, senior fellow at the Family Research Council said.

If that is truly the case, NO Catholics should have voted for nobama. He laid out his plans regarding this during the campaign. No one should be surprised at what he has done.

Hey Shannon Bream, who's your editor? They are not very good.

The Church also gave ACORN $6 million to help elect Obama.

That is a beautiful smear.

You must be very proud.

i have trouble feeling sorry for hordes of willfully ignorant people who wanted to see something in obama that the rest of us knew was not there.

Seriously, anyone who is disappointed in Obama is too stupid to live, let alone vote. He broadcast exactly what he was. Some people simply refused to believe it.

He garnered the majority of Catholic votes in the 2008 election...

Uh, sure.

As long as actual proof isn't a problem, fine.

I’m thinking also that there are many Catholics in the liberal east.

I don’t really get it because Obama has been consistently for abortion and Palestine.

Dear Catholic Church,

You were warned what a President Obama would be like months before the day of the election and you ignored those warnings. Now you want to cry about the choice you made. You’ve helped to move this country towards socialism with your voting actions. You do not now get to bleat about the pain this has caused you, while ignoring the reality of the pain you’ve caused the rest of us. Cry to someone else - I’m all out of sympathy for morons.

Other than Jews, as a group Catholics are the stupidest voters in the US.

Obama campaigned on doing these things and his votes proved his intentions as well. If they still voted for him and are just NOW figuring this out, I call em as I see em, they are flat out stupid.

Doing EXACTLY what he said he would do and they are disappointed? I guess they were just too blinded by his dazzling oratory and his promises to “bring people together” and all that bull. Or they figured his voting record couldn’t be real. After all, he seems so nice. Just because he voted for unrestricted abortion doesn’t mean he would do that as president.

I don’t know what world these people are living in.

http://www.usccb.org/cchd/acorn-faq.shtml

What is the current status of ACORN’s CCHD funding?
Last June, CCHD cut off funding of grants to ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) groups because of questions that arose about financial management, fiscal transparency and organizational accountability of the national ACORN structures.

During the CCHD Bishops Subcommittee meeting November 8-9, 2008, the Subcommittee voted unanimously to extend and formalize ending CCHD funding of ACORN organizations. This decision was made because of serious concerns regarding ACORN’s lack of financial transparency, organizational performance, and questions surrounding political partisanship.

They stopped funding them in November 2008.

I think some people are actually in shock to discover that Obama really IS a politician. Say anything to get voted. That’s what happens when you vote on someone you know nothing about except what they tell you.

As many lies as this dimwit has gotten busted for, is there anyone who still believes his AUTO-biography?
