Is he being offered an Honorary LAW Degree? I know that in the past, when the powers that be wanted to do this, and suggested it to the Law School, they said absolutely NOT! They suggested that the person in question be given an Honorary Degree in Theology, since it was the goofy folks in the Theology Dept. pushing the pro-abortion speaker.

"Apparently the Catholic folks at Notre Dame University have no more respect for the Baptismal vows they renew every Easter than their invited Commencement Speaker this year has for the Presidential Oath of Office. At this moment in time, Barack Obama is the living incarnation of the glamour of evil."

Secret handshakes can arrange anything - even at Notre Dame.

From the Notre Dame website:

"President Barack Obama will be the principal speaker and the recipient of an honorary doctor of laws degree at the University of Notre Dame’s 164th University Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. May 17 (Sunday) in the Joyce Center on campus. "

I'm going to go there personally and throw blood if he speaks.

St. Thomas More, pray for us.

Barry evil? Quite possibly.
Glamorous? Getting less and less so by the minute.

By contrast, it looks like the Commencement Speaker at Ave Maria University this year is going to be Dr. Thomas Hilgers, the founder, with his wife, Sue, of the John Paul II Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction. Here's a description of the Institute from its website:

"The Pope Paul VI Institute is the only Catholic Institution of its type in the United States and perhaps the world that has dedicated its services to the development of morally and professionally acceptable reproductive health services. The Institute is nationally and internationally recognized for its major accomplishements, including the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS), the official language of a woman's health and fertility and the new women's health science, NaProTECHNOLOGY."

At this moment in time, Barack Obama is the living incarnation of the glamour of evil.

The statement of the century.

I was not aware that Alan Keyes is a Catholic. Please give him this link, of which he may be unaware. This is how we will win back our country.

Yes, she converted the followers of the religions of human sacrifice and slavery in Latin America.

If not for Our Lady of Guadalupe, this hemisphere would be very much worse than it now is, and the illegals coming over the border would be a whole lot worse.

On the website, you can read what Our Lady predicted in the late 1950s. IMO, this is what we’re heading into, right now.

“Bishop D’Arcy, who is a relatively good bishop.”

I guess there’s a few still out there.

They've been going back and forth on the V-monologues for years now. The tug-a-war over the dialogues is almost as much a part of event as the play itself. Oh well, at least they aren't staging it on Ash Wednesday, as they did a few years back...

I was encouraged this year by the more concerted pro-life stand taken by the bishops. They spoke with one voice this past campaign more than I have ever seen. The proposed speech at N.D. should be a real showdown, if there are those with the will to fight. It really needs to be, because the issues here are hardly ambiguous. The other bishops are probably waiting for Bsp D'Arcy to decide what he's going to do.

BTW, Bsp D'Arcy was one of the ones in Boston who tried to blow the whistle on the goings on there. He was exiled to Indiana for his trouble. I'm sure he's well aware of the consequences of not acting in time. One hopes they are burning the midnight oil in Fort Wayne these days trying to figure out a strategy. One hopes .... A visit by the Aborter-in-Chief would be a scandal for the ages at N.D., expecially after the bishops started to speak out about abortion last year. The provocation can't go unanswered.

Yes, Bsp D'Arcy actually tried to do something about the deplorable situation in Boston many years ago. They arranged to have him sent off to Indiana so he wouldn't make trouble. You've got to hope that somehow the bishop knows the consequences of not acting against N.D., which is under his diocesan jurisdiction. Problem is, you never know with these guys...

It will be a huge scandal if Zero speaks officially at Notre Dame.

Whaddaya mean “even” at Notre Dame? ND has been slouching toward Gomorrah for some time now.

Hey ND fans........I don’t think “Our Lady” is pleased with you anymore. Maybe that explains your disastrous seasons the last few years!

Note the irony. The faculty and administration was infiltrated by anti-Catholics under Hesburgh’s presidency. They have followed Georgetown’s Land O’Lakes lead into oblivion. Imagine being a student graduating, actually having borrowed money and worked hard for the degree, and having the ceremony ruined and crapped on by the pro-abortionist Obama.

That’s a great and succinct letter. (I’m Jewish, not Catholic) Well done.

Thank you. My husband says God gave me adrenalin for a reason.:o)

But we've got to follow up with action. Please pray that the Almighty may raise up strong leaders for us, and that we footsoldiers can keep our focus and not just dissolve into hand-wringing and bitching. (Or being satisfied with having written a "really good letter.")
