In recognition for his significant and visible contribution toward helping the environment, and for inspiring kids to do the same, Nickelodeon will honor multi-Academy Award-nominated actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio with the first-ever "Big Green Help Award" at this year's Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday, March 28 (8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT), at Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles, Calif. Nickelodeon's 22nd Annual Kids' Choice Awards -- featuring host Dwayne Johnson -- will honor kids' favorites from the worlds of film, music, sports and television in a star-studded live telecast (tape delayed for West Coast).
The award -- which will be presented to DiCaprio by longtime friend and fellow friend of the planet Cameron Diaz -- is part of Nickelodeon's Big Green Help campaign -- a multiplatform, global pro-social campaign designed to empower kids to take action on the environment and connect them to energy saving and earth-friendly activities in their everyday lives. Created for the more than half of U.S. kids who say they are concerned about the environment (source: Nickelodeon/Pew Center's "Keeping it Cool: Kids, Parents and the Global Environment" Research), The Big Green Help aims to fashion a new generation of environmentalists for whom green will become not only a cause, but a way of life.
Leonardo DiCaprio has been a tireless promoter of green causes and events, and an avid environmentalist. He established the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 to foster increased awareness of environmental issues, and served as global chairman of Earth Day 2000.

My son was so excited to see if ICarly won best show (he voted for them 9 times, I hope he is not a future Obama type voter) .
Dad had to be as obnoxious as he is (golly gee, I wonder where he gets it?)
"Well son, you know how they tell you to protect the planet and all that good stuff?" I asked.
"Yeah, Dad. You should recycle those beer cans. We have to save the planet."
"Do you really believe that garbage even after all we talked about and how I tried to explain it to you?"
"Yeah."
"OK, well tonight is Earth Hour. That means that we have to turn off the TV at 8 PM to save the world."
"What the *^%$!"
Violence and expletives ensued. Chip off the old block.
The best thing that this little douche bag could do for our environment...is to get out of it.
“Big Green Help Award”
After a meal of spinach casserole, you can leave one of these in the...
How much electricity and how much carbon credits will Leo di Crap-io pony up to “save the earth”?
I was watching it with my son when DiCaprio came on.
My son jumped up and asked if he could stay up a little longer because this guy is so boring, I had a little chuckle.
I have been debating when to start our chats about these things.
I have a feeling I won’t need to press the issue.
That's the moral of the story. The Eco-Marxists have done the easy part. Brainwashing children and stupid adults. That was easy. Low hanging fruit.
Now comes the hard part for them....convincing them to give up their liberty and standard of living.
My only hope is that kids do what they normally do....rebel and tell these authoritarians to pound sand.
Wow. It must really suck to be a kid this day and age.
I happened to catch that sickening introduction, right after the Pussycat Dolls performance at the KIDS choice awards....something is SO wrong with this picture.
Bless the children...
As long as their was no smoking and the event was green, this is OK?
*Some of my best friends are guys on steroids with tattoos and Hoochie Mommas in leather. Nothing personal. I love you guys/gals.
But this is how far liberal social engineering has come and what it has done to our children.
I hope Nickelodeon doesn’t poison Spongebob Squarepants with that green bullsh*t. My kids and I watch it faithfully!
This guy is a disgrace to the “Leonardo” name.
Retardo is more apt.
He’s an idiot. He acknowledged Cameron Diaz for being an “intricate” part of the green movement.
That’s the whole thing. You can think and read and research for yourself.
Liberal statists have no use for you. You can’t be changed.
They want our children. They can be manipulated by them.
Cammy could be an "intricate" part of a "movement" of mine...anytime.
Here’s what’s so funny about that. Kids spend all day being told by their parents & teachers “don’t do this, don’t do that!”. The last thing kids want to see is their TV idols doing the same thing! Kids aren’t that stupid.
This is going to backfire so bad.
