Newt is no RINO. That’s silly to say he is.

>>A high altitude detonation, delivered by IBCM
>>would come with a return address. For that
>>reason, it won’t be sent.

That’s a valid point - but it’s undermined by the fact that, in order for M.A.D. to be an effective deterrent, both sides have to be reasonably sane.

Korea’s leadership, Sane?

Newt’s point seems to be that the USA has a valid need to implement and maintain a functional defense against missile attack; and I agree.

He's a flawed man, but that doesn't mean that this message should be ignored. We are facing an uncertain future, with an America that seems to be losing its way. I'm willing to listen to Gingrich and any other voice that is speaking out with the reality of our situation.

I agree. Why don’t we just crucify everyone who has done one thing we don’t like. Then we will have NOBODY to speak out except for bloggers on the internet. Eventually they will go away and then we can live under the rule of the evil Kenyan POS dictator for the rest of our lives.

You know what's ironic? I'll bet that if we could look back on the records of all these holier-than-thou FReepers who want to decapitate every GOP politician who's ever done one thing wrong, we'd find that every last one of these FReepers had something we could accuse them of being a RINO about. Every single one.

“Probably 50% of the critics on FR now are leftist trolls. The below article link from Andrew Breitbart exposes what is going on with the left and their infiltration of Right Wing sites...”

This is interesting; I wouldn’t think it would be nearly as high as 50%, but then again, I could be a left-wing troll, trying to deceive by my non-chalant lack of alarm toward the possibility of other left-wing trolls. Seriously, I don’t doubt that there is some of this going on, and I find it annoying, because at FR, I think open left-wing dissent is tolerated. So if you’re a liberal and don’t agree with something here, just come out and say it straight up, I’ll respect your opinion much more that way. I’ve been to daily KOS, and I recall that they rate you on your comments to determine if you’re worthy to be able to continue posting. The far left are always proving just how much they believe in free speech aren’t they?

A Single Nuke Could Destroy America

You're a little late, Newt.

That "nuke" already struck America on Novermber 4th, 2008. That "nuke" will be far more destructive to the U.S. than the 9/11 attacks though with far less bodies.

“And his message, manifested as the Contract With America, was credited with driving the Republican takeover of Congress that year.”

Newt ( and some others ) might claim that was the main force behind the Republican takeover, but even the RATS now admit it was the AWB!

And THAT is the reason we can't ever nominate anti-gun RINO’s like Mutt Romney, Rooty Ghouliani, etc!

Our candidates don't have to be perfect but some issues are deal breakers.

BTW...I agree on Newt.

Obama doesn’t want Black Americans to die, or his rich democrat friends or the Liberals. He doesn’t want to rule a nation of rubble. I believe he just doesn’t get it. We Americans have become fat and lazy. We have to realize that we can LOSE a war and along with it all we have. The wars of the future will be fought in cyberspace, outer space, at sea, air and land. It will be a war of both terrorism, high tech and good old style movements of armies and navies. When America faces this sort of enemy what will liberals do? Run to Sweden? (some will) or stand up and fight. Most will take up arms, I believe. When push comes to shove—Liberals are Americans first in their hearts.

“With Obama’s grab for power and the resulting fascist structure of our government, people like Newt, whether they’re running for office or advocating policy, would only add to the problem.”

I suppose this an example:

Newt Gingrich Says Obama and Geithner Engaging in Unprecedented “Power Grab” - Video. ‘Gingrich even uses the term “dictatorial powers” to describe what Obama is seeking:’

“In 2012 we’re going to need a president who would be willing to diminish federal control—to break the chains Obama has placed on the private sector. People like Newt, driven by personal ambition, would not let go of that power.”

That is your opinion only. He worked against large government while Speaker of the House and would do so as President.

You wrote:
“I am confident Palin would be willing to forego personal power in order to reestablish liberty.”

I don’t disagree. However I’ve seen Newt handle interviewers (many hostile, a few friendly) and he does so exceptionally well. He can handle Katie Courac and anyone else. Newt also comes to any forum well prepared with arguments and facts. That is important when you are dealing with people on the fence. It is also a way to respond to the inevitable Democratic party attempts to defame the Republican nominee. He is smart and prepared and everyone can see it. He also has good a background in history, which keeps him grounded and secure in his conservatism. (I’ll forgive him for saying he admires Teddy Roosevelt).

I watched some of his television show that the Democrats attacked as partisan. It was not partisan. For every time that he mentioned Lincoln positively, he mentioned FDR positively. That might not be my personal preference, but if that is the kind of diplomacy/tact/politicking that is needed to win the White House, it’s O.K. with me.

From my research the most likely delivery system would be from a freighter...say an Iranian freighter disguised as an African one. They would launch from the Gulf..perhaps near Florida. Then scuttle the ship...so no evidence where it came from. How would giggles respond to that? Do nothing I’m sure. Declare martial law and take our guns “for our safety”.

Just picture it..no power..no refrigeration..no running vehicles..food runs out..no cell phones..no net...no myspace!! The horror! People would turn crazy..a real mad max situation.

Newt is the worst possible spokesman for conservatism. His past political career cannot negate what he does now, like his silly little global warming speeches or his criticism of Rush as he sucks up to whoever.

I know he has a brain, but it’s his heart I’m concerned about. Newt has been infected with the Washington DC virus. It infiltrates the central nervous system and induces its victims to put self interest before everything else—that makes it fatal to conservative principles.

Has Newt said anything recently about global warming?

I wasn’t aware of his criticizing Rush. I did a search on FreeRepublic and came up with the following:

Newt thinks we have to “do something” about man-made global warming—his position marks either a significant drop in his IQ or an unprincipled embrace of political correctness.

Remember—the potential damage to our nation and to our economy is huge when people like Newt, who are perceived to be “far right,” make comments in favor of global warming.

A few weeks ago Newt made some kind of Michael Steele like comment about Rush, and Rush’s response was “Frankly, I’m tired of discussing Newt.”

And finally, the most telling thing about Newt is his repeating over and over that he wants to have a “national debate” about this or that. It shows he thinks talking is the way to solve problems.

If that doesn’t tell you he’s got the liberal Washington bug, nothing will.
