Sebelius admits errors, pays $7,000 in back taxes (another Obama tax cheat)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius has corrected three years of tax returns and paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding "unintentional errors" — the latest tax troubles for an Obama administration nominee. The Kansas governor explained the changes to senators in a letter dated Tuesday that was obtained by The Associated Press. She said they involved charitable contributions, the sale of a home and business expenses.

She and her husband paid a total of $7,040 in back taxes and $878 in interest to amend returns from 2005-2007.

Several Obama administration nominees have been derailed by tax issues, notably the president's first nominee for HHS secretary, former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle. He withdrew from consideration while apologizing for failing to pay $140,000 in taxes and interest.

Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., quickly issued a statement supporting Sebelius' nomination.

"Congress is going to need a strong partner at the Department of Health and Human Services to achieve comprehensive health reform this year, and we have that partner in Gov. Sebelius," Baucus said. "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Gov. Sebelius has the political experience, determination, and bipartisan work ethic to get the job done with Congress this year. She's the right person for the job."

LOL

If you paid all your taxes you need not apply.

If however you have cheated your lying arse off then by all means go for it.

Democrats disgust me.

This is penny ante stuff. I got audited and I owed 4,000 more and I made some legitimate errors to owe 4,000 more which I paid.

For anyone who makes more than 400,000 a year, 7,000 in tax errors is not that big a deal.

The official Obama appointee oath of office:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will admit my tax mistakes and pay any necessary back taxes without penalty and interest and without serving a prison sentence for tax fraud, so help me Obama.

My guess is that is some of what is going on or direct deposits from folks like Soros Inc. Some of these tax cheats probably have a nice stash of cash already because they have been CHEATING ON THEIR TAXES...LOL.

I wonder too if they are paying penalties like the rest of us would have to pay!

No wonder the democrats are gung-ho for raising taxes, they don’t bother to pay them in the first place so who cares what the rate is.
