Look what's on the Queen's new iPod
The London Guardian ^ | April 3, 2009 | Jon Henley

Posted on 04/03/2009 7:47:59 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

OK, you're the young, mould-breaking, rockstar president of the US of A. You're on a visit to Britain that features (among other stuff) tea at Buck House, your first ever encounter with Her Maj. You've already been chastised, and not in a kind way, by the British press for presenting their prime minister with a gift of 25 Great American Movies on DVDs that may or may not have been compatible with British machinery.

So now what do you give their octogenarian monarch who, you can safely assume, already has everything she could ever want? An iPod, of course. Engraved, certainly. Personalised, too. But still an iPod. Cue outrage in America ("Confirms Obama hasn't figured out presidential gift-giving" - NBC; "Well, it's better than a bunch of DVDs that don't work" - Christian Science Monitor) and Britain ("She already has one" - the Daily Telegraph; "My Husband and iPod" - The Sun).

Difficult as this is to believe, the Queen already owned an iPod, a 6GB silver model acquired as long ago as 2005 at the suggestion of the ever-hip Prince Andrew. But Obama's gift was a video iPod, loaded with photos and video from the Queen's 2007 state visit to the States as well as archive footage from her 1957 trip; plus pics and audio from President Obama's inauguration, and audio of his speech (as plain Senator Obama) at the 2004 Democratic national convention.

Obama is an embarrassment and the MSM called George Bush an idiot. Bush never gave such cheesy gifts nor needed two teleprompters to answer a single question.

Jimmuh is available and eligible, I believe.

The other two are excluded for various reasons.

Although another Clinton is available soon. Chelsea’s eligible in 2016.

“mould-breaking”

BS. Meet the new leftist, same as the old leftist. He’s using the same old, tried and proven false ideas of wealth redistribution and confiscation.

Good thing in this case that Her Majestee is a Broadway fan. Some Democrat actually had half a clue.

Would Al Gore have given her the Internet?

The first time I heard of the unmajestic gift to The Queen of England, I thought it must be an April Fools prank news story. But no such luck, that putz gave The Queen an i-pod. Un-freaking-believable. Just proves, you can’t buy class. The Queen has it, Zero does not. And what’s up with Michelle My Belle puttin’ her mitts on The Queen? Geez. No class. Ya don’t touch The Queen unless she extends her hand for you to shake it politely. sigh. These 2 are the worst. Can anyone name a worse fake pres and first lady? Even Bill and Hill could pull off meeting heads of state without embarassing the country.

This poseur is a total idiot!

We must have Presidential Gift packagers for all the overseas cabinet members (Hillary and her Nuc button), folks that must be costing us millions per year; just to sort out the gifts from the US.

And here is this Community Organizer idiot giving out the same type of gifts that he spread around Chicago, after walking up four floors to press the flesh!

All I can think of is that Bozo and Hitlery cleaned out the White House of all the small good stuff in 2000.

And Michele, arms around the untouchable queen?- wat’s up wid’ dat’?

Asshole is beginning to get a whole new meaning!

Eligible in 2016, though just barely, I think.

Although since a presidential candidate doesn’t seem to be required to provide documentation of date and location of birth, the constitutional requirements seem to be pretty much a moot point.

If the Brits had any self-respect, they should have flagged obuma and his gang of thugs on Air Force 1 to an LZ filled with cows and pissed off Picts.

Wonder if it is solid sterling silver.

Of all the social parasites which have ever infected any society, the Windors a.k.a. Saxe-Coeburg Gothas a.k.a. House of Hanover are among the worst.

Aww wasn’t that sweet. Michelle hugging Her Majestee like it was her grandmaw. The Brits said it was one of those unspoken rules, that it wasn’t actually in any written code of conduct. The old Queen showed she could think on her feet by hugging Michelle back. Now if Michelle tries that with the Pope....

Obama’s Little Blue Book and the Egg of Power
By Michelle Malkin, January 26, 2009

Tons of people have e-mailed about the Little Blue Book of Obama sayings that a firm called the History Company is hawking on its website. Yes, they really are selling them in 10-packs for $49.50 — and yes, the resemblance to Mao’s Little Red Book is striking. Weirdly, “Pocket Obama” has a plain blank cover and smacks of a gag — especially the last line:

"Printed in a size that easily fits into pocket or purse, this book is an anthology of quotations borrowed from Barack Obama’s speeches and writings. POCKET OBAMA serves as a reminder of the amazing power of oratory and the remarkable ability of this man to move people with his words. His superb and captivating oratory style has earned comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and this historic collection presents words that catapulted his remarkable rise to the American Presidency. It is an unofficial requirement for every citizen to own, to read, and to carry this book at all times.

"From May 1966, student members of the Communist Party were encouraged to carry copies of Mao's Little Red Book of quotations. Acting under Mao's leadership, these "Red Guards" used his quotations in their mission to weed out intellectuals. With themes such as Correcting Mistaken Ideas and All Reactionaries are Paper Tigers, the quotations became the standard by which all revolutionary efforts were judged."

Bush never gave such cheesy gifts nor needed two teleprompters to answer a single question.

Contrary to conventional wisdom, President Bush did quite well at speaking the vast majority of the time. Quite a few times he was actually inspirational...and sometimes even masterful.
