Barack Obama really does go on a bit
Telegraph Blogs (U.K.) ^ | April 5, 2009 | Iain Martin

Posted on 04/05/2009 11:00:10 AM PDT by Schnucki

Isn't it time for him to go home yet? It is good, in theory, that the new President of the United States is taking so much time to tour Europe. He arrived in London last Tuesday, has been to Strasbourg, Prague yesterday and now he's off to Turkey. It shows, I suppose, that he cares about the outside world and that is 'A Good Thing'. But his long stay means that we are hearing rather a lot from him, way too much in fact.

His speeches have long under-delivered, usually leaving a faintly empty sensation in this listener even though I welcomed, moderately, his victory last year as offering the possibility of a fresh start and a boost to confidence.

Yet, we are told that he is a great orator and in one way he certainly is. He does have a preternatural calm in the spotlight and a mastery of the cadences we associate with the notable speakers in US history - such as JFK and MLK. But beyond that, am I alone in finding him increasingly to be something of a bore?

His performance at the first press conference in London with Gordon Brown featured moments in which he sparkled - his riff on loving the Queen was a high-point. But most of the serious answers that I listened to were interminable, windy and not very impressive. At points there were pauses so long that it appeared he had simply lost his train of thought.

Today, we were treated to another set-piece Obama speech, and my didn't he go on a bit? The crowd in Prague was huge, and initially wildly enthusiastic, but what he served up was not any more impressive than his damp squib in Berlin last year. Is there a computer which churns this stuff out

The world is finally realizing what we have been saying for years. Obama is a narcissistic windbag. They’re waking up after a raging night on the town, head pounding, and noticing the ‘1’ lying in bed next to them, who they could have sworn was a ‘10’ the night before. Too bad we all will suffer for their idiocy.

I thought he was boring the first time I heard him(on youtube). He starts off pretty good, and finishes ok usually. But the long period in the middle is extremely dull and pointless.

Europeans must think americans are not too bright by now. We had 8 years of a lying disgusting pervert that speaks very well, then 8 years of a president that just cannot speak period, and now we have a boring dunce that won’t shut up. He like a robot of some kind.

As you, Obama, dismissed Bush re Iraq and a new democracy in the festering middle east.

Great post, Schnucki.

Well, sort of. He reads all of his speeches off a Hallmark-sist card, and they convey all of the sincerity and true emotion of same.

How much crap must a man’s mouth spew
Before you call him a fraud?
Yes, n how many lies must a mulatto tell
Before he loses his throne?
Yes, n how many times must the bull crap fly
Before he is forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind,
The answer is blowin in the wind.

How many times must a liberal look up
Before he can see it’s a lie?
Yes, n how many ears must a liberal have
Before he can hear liberty’s cry?
Yes, n how much freedom must be lost
For that freedom so many have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind,
The answer is blowin in the wind.

How many years can a United States exist
Before its washed to the sea?
Yes, n how many years can free people exist
Before theyre tied by tyranny?
Yes, n how many times can a liberal turn his head,
Pretending he just doesnt see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind,
The answer is blowin in the wind.

Like the mean stepdad went out of town for work giving us a reprieve to do as we please. Then when he returns, so do the anxiety levels.

I guess he has not heard of TOTUS.

Obama’s European campaign to denigrate the US and try to buy the admiration of the rest of the world is the most disgusting display of egomania I have ever seen. Chrissy Mathews must be in a flagellating frenzy watching this sickening display.

Particularly on the stock market. I'm thinking of adopting a trading strategy that involves selling short just before each of his domestic speeches, and buying just before each of his trips out of the country.

Just seeing the headline, I knew it was a British headline - good turn of phrase!

“Is there a computer which churns this stuff out”

The Axelrod-Vapidomatic (TM) software, churns out pablum that rips off every major speech made since the dawning of globalism. Sliced and dices it into gibbering platitudes.

Windbag at best--and one who doesn't know his history.

His speech sounds as if he picked a tourism brochure on Prague before arriving...

"For over a thousand years, Prague has set itself apart from any other city in any other place."

I like Prague too but like Berlin and Warsaw, it is a relatively young city.

Vienna was founded around 500BC and Paris is thought to have been settled around 4,200BC.

“I thought he was boring the first time I heard him(on youtube).”

While his early primary speeches were impressive and he got crowds,
I knew he was over-rated since the March 2008 ‘race’ speech, which was dishonest hokum flatly delivered but gave Chrissie Matthews a tingle up his leg.

“He like a robot of some kind.”

He just reads whatever TOTUS tells him to. He who controls TOTUS controls the world.

What gets me is this in his speech: “Few people would have predicted that someone like me would one day become an American President.” (Him again)...

“Few people would have predicted that an American President would one day be permitted to speak to an audience like this in Prague. And few would have imagined that the Czech Republic would become a free nation, a member of NATO, and a leader of a united Europe. Those ideas would have been dismissed as dreams”.

How can he with a straight face describe people in a thousand-year-old city as not imagining that things would someday change from the bad old Cold War days? Few of Barack’s American liberal generation thought it would change. The rest of Europe and American conservatives have always known that things change, often and always. Not only does he talk like a narcissist, his speechwriter writes like one.
