Agreed. Expectations rule perception. Expectations in the US built on debt have exceeded what long term reality will be able to provide. Our children and their children will never live at as high of a level of prosperity as we have now.
If you’re used to crackers and that’s all you’ve ever hoped for, you’re not disappointed. If you grew up on cake, it’s a lot harder to go back and eat crackers. There are a lot of people running around now realizing that they’ve tasted their last cake and they are angry, blaming anything and anyone they can, and taking revenge for perceived wrongdoing.

A surprisingly large number of these folks are on anti- depressants, there just may be a connection.

I’m very sorry to hear about your family member. It happens so often, way too often. That is one of the reasons why it’s so hard to leave an abusive relationship. It happened here to a neighbor of my cousins’. Abusive marriage (no kids), she filed for divorce, he waited in the lawyer’s parking lot one day and shot her as she came out. Very sad.
I also agree. I remember in the late 60’s hearing my grandmother comment on a bunch of hippies with a sign that read “Let it all hang out!”. Her comment...”Why would we want to let it all hang out, it has taken centuries to stuff it all in?”
She knew there were requirements for a civilized people, she believed it was manners and morals.
Thank you - and like a previous poster already stated....it wasn’t the “biases” laws that made him snap - it was the loss of control.
And she wasn’t leaving on a whim - she was leaving because he was flippin’ nuts.
No because many of these men commit these attrocious acts well before anyone ever goes into court or any paperwork is ever filed.
