why should they be taken prisoner and sent to some prison someplace where they (the pirates) can then gain the sympathy of MSNBC, CNN etc. and make absolute fortunes doing it..while those same networks condemn the brute force against these “fisherman” who were obviously lost and simply boarded to ask for directions..

I don't think it's going to be much longer before the urienalists are getting the same treatment

Whatever happened to that ship who’s “cargo” was killing the pirates?

Fox, like the rest of the MSM, are terrorist supporters.
Americans now know it well.

Olongapo!

In about 1990 my nephew got back from his first westpac with the Marines. He and my step father, who had built warehouses at Subic Bay with the CBs in WWII were swapping memories of the PI. My step father, who was in his 70s at the time said something about a little village on the other side of the bridge from the base but he couldn't remember the name of the place.

Nephew: "Ologapo? It's a big village now."
Step father: "You been there?"
Nephew: "Yea after about two months on board ship".
Step father: "Hope you've had your shots."

Apparently some things hadn't changed much in 45 years.

I was wondering the same thing. Latest from AP on the American/Somali confrontation, Crew member tells AP shipmate held by pirates

"WASHINGTON (AP) — A crew member aboard the vessel hijacked by pirates is telling The Associated Press that his ship mates are trying to rescue a crew member still being held.

Colin Wright, who identified himself as a third mate aboard the ship, said, "Somalian pirates have one of our crew members in our lifeboat and we are trying to recover that crew member."

Asked whether that crew member was the ship's captain, Collin told the AP he couldn't say anything else. Earlier, a person aboard the ship told the AP that it was the captain who was being held by the pirates.

At one point, the pirates had held the boat and the entire crew of Americans. Said Collin: "We're really busy right now, but you can call back in an hour or two.""

LOL. We're really busy, call back later.

Shepard Smith was arguing with the guest saying indeed they are terrorists.

To be fair, Shep (of all people), called him on. Shep said, (paraphrasing), “If I was an unarmed crewman on that ship and armed pirates boarded, I would feel terrorized.”

Truck drivers must obey the firearm laws of the State through which they are traveling.

I've always hated stopping along I-70 right before the IL. state line to separate my pistol from the ammo, lock the pistol in one box and the ammo in another box.

WAIT just a minute.

A U.S. flagged ship has never been boarded by Pirates in over 200 years.

For all of Obama’s apologizing the Somali's still hate us.

Biden just said America is now more safe in the world... How can anyone consider this Administration Credible?

Will they blame Bush?

“They need to gut the other one and throw him in too so there are no witnesses. “
Come on! Those pirates didn’t swim out to that ship. They have to have at least one boat of their own. Also, one news report said they were in a life boat. My hope is that they were disarmed before entering the drink.

Yes, I saw that earlier in the thread. It does bring back memories.

I left Cubi from that Carrier Pier, as a refugee, aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln in June 1991, following the Mount Pinatubo eruption. Everything was covered by ash, at that time, and the runway could not be used. The place where I worked was abandoned because of damage and I was told that I no longer had a job. I went back later to pack out our household goods.

I spent lots of time in that area through the years. 1963-1967 aboard the Coral Sea during Viet Nam, seeing the Bay full of anchored ships and all the docks and piers full also. The gate being closed because there were 10,000 Sailors and Marines out in Olongapo already. Riding the cattle trailers from the main gate to the Cubi Carrier Pier. Then seven years sailing with Military Sealift Command out of Yokohama, the last year of that, 1975, homeported in Subic. Later I came back, for more abuse, as a civilian employee, working, in country, out of Subic.. A real glutton for punishment, but someone had to do it.

I am a lifetime member of the VFW in Barrio Barretto and still have contacts there. My wife is Filipina so I have been back to visit several times.

Who would sail a ship in pirate infested waters without being armed?
