Bay Area Brothers Welcomed Home from Iraq Written by Melanie Morgan Friday, 11 April 2008 This story makes my heart skip a beat. Two brothers, both Marines, serving their country in Iraq, came home safely to the San Francisco Bay Area last night. And they were greeted as heroes at the airport by the Patriot Guard Riders, EaglesUP West Coast coordinator Doug Lyvere, family and soon- to- be friends. KPIX News covered it here.250 people showed up! The Boy Scouts waited anxiously to say hello.I know that readers of this blog from the South, the Midwest and other parts...

Saturday, March 22, 2008 Posted By:Catherine MoyPermalinkAh, I love the Smell of Bikes in Berkeley in the Morning!! EaglesUp.Us brought 400 of their Motorcycle buddies and another 200 pedestrians to downtown Berkeley Saturday morning to support the Marines, which have been under fire from the radical group Code Pink and the Berkeley City Council. Move America Forward’s Chairman Melanie Morgan rode into town on the back of a Hog. She and the VERY LOUD bikers cruised through the streets of Berkeley, giving them a wake-up call. As the roaring bikes cruised by, car alarms and house alarms squealed in the...

Rolling Into Town on the Back of Fred's Hog Written by Melanie Morgan Saturday, 22 March 2008 I admit it. I lied. A big, fat whopper. And I am NOT the least bit sorry abut it. I said in the media and in e-mail last Wednesday that our pro-troop side decided to stand down against the moonbats on the street during the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq, and at Shattuck Square in Berkeley, Calif. where our Marine Recruiters are doing excellent work in spite of the near constant harassment. I told a fib. I didn't want to tip our hand...

A Hundred Thousand Motorcycle Riders (Well quite a few hundred) infiltrated Berkeley along with hundreds of others who drove cages and used other forms of transportation (Tunnels with Trains) in Support of our Troops and the Marine Officer Selection Recritiment Office in the California town that is trying to withdraw from the human race and The United States Of America.Well, that's my take on the actions of Berkeley whose very existance depends on our country being well armed and manned by Military Personell.I arrived about 11AM, although my camera thought it was 10The speakers were scheduled to speak in an...

BERKELEY -- Berkeley is hosting a decidedly different kind of protest today. A couple hundred flag-waving leather-clad pro-troop bikers have roared into town to show their support for the often besieged Marines recruiting center in the city. "I'm here because I support my Marines," said Steve Bosshard, a retired San Francisco police officer who came from Santa Rosa. "I don't like what Berkeley's done. They don't realize the effect it has on the troops." The center was criticized by the Berkeley city council and is often the target of protests. Today's demonstrators, most of whom are military veterans, said they...

Tonight on The Front Line, we’ll be talking to “Thus Spake Ortner,” a well-known military blogger from The Sniper who, together with Jonn from This Ain’t Hell, live-blogged the Winter Soldier II hearings last week. TSO will be on to tell us all about how much of a circus it really was. So much for freedom of speech. Tune in tonight at 9 pm EST, and feel free to call the show and weigh in with your opinion at 646-915-9926 or 866-697-8111 (the toll free number)!

It doesn't matter if you ride a bike or drive a cage. This is a call to arms for all veterans, all patriots, and all that truly respect the military. The Left's Day of Reckoning Written by Melanie Morgan Wednesday, 19 March 2008 The militant anti-war seditionists swarmed the streets of San Francisco and Berkeley, Ca. today with the intention of disrupting traffic, commerce and left behind a trail of environmental filth in their wake. Bay Area Newsgroup has video from Berkeley's Marine Recruiting Center, where (sigh) Cindy Sheehan showed up. In Washington, D.C. District police cleared the way TWICE to allow anti-war demonstrators back in front of the military recruiting center on L Street, and that emboldened the terrorist tactics of the left to escalate. Kristinn Taylor from FreeRepublic.com...

Military Families Voice of Victory got a very interesting comment from an article about recruiting center attacks yesterday from coast to coast. One of the cities reported about was DC "SDS threw paint bombs, rocks and damaged police cars. Witnesses have reported that MPDC Chief Cathy Lanier has ordered the police to do nothing if the center was attacked." This was from a report phone in which was also reported here at FR. Today a response was made by Communications at MPD. "The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) must enforce local law and the rights afforded to every person under the...

WASHINGTON — Hundreds of protesters fanned out across the nation’s capital Wednesday to call for an end to military operations in Iraq, but city police reported none of the major civic disruptions organizers had predicted. The events, scheduled to coincide with the five-year anniversary of the start of the Iraq war, came a few days after pro-war groups marched on the National Mall in support of a continued U.S. presence in Iraq. Leslie Cagan, co-chair of United for Peace and Justice, said the goal of dispersed demonstrations was to bring awareness to the “shock and awe, shockingly and awful occupation...

Wednesday’s "The Situation Room" featured three anti-war grassroots websites during a short segment, without including any from the opposing viewpoint. Host Wolf Blitzer introduced the segment by talking about the anti-war protests marking the 5-year anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq war. "Hundreds of anti-war protesters gathered in Washington for this, the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq. At least 31 people were arrested today, according to the organizers. Protests are also happening across the country, and many of them are being organized online." Blitzer brought in CNN Internet reported Abbi Tatton, who described the websites and the...

WASHINGTON — Her anti-war stance helped her knock off the incumbent in Maryland's 4th Congressional District, and on Wednesday it made Donna Edwards one of the keynote speakers in a day of protests on the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq. ~snip~ Student activists chained themselves to desks in the middle of the street, a giant missile with an effigy of President Bush decorated a corner and protesters costumed as polar bears stalked the streets with a booming soundtrack as the rain dampened turnout, but not the enthusiasm of the protesters. ~snip~ Elsewhere, a multi-group coalition of students led...

Remember Me By Salena Zito Time punishes war. The war in Iraq is no exception; as each moment passes, public resolve, politics and passion erode its mission. Collectively, many Americans tend to remember the mistakes and politics that led us there, rather than the faces of the men and women who serve and defend us. Seven months ago, Lizzie Palmer, a young lady from Columbus, Ohio, barely over the threshold of childhood, felt compelled to do her part to remind people of those faces. The result is a stunning video that was showcased on Chris Wallace's Fox News Sunday last...

Story Created: Mar 19, 2008 Story Updated: Mar 19, 2008 People driving by the Army Recruiting Station on Milwaukee's east side are finding it boarded up with a vandal's message on the 5th anniversary of the Iraq War. Vandals put graffiti saying "War Is Offensive" and broke windows at the facility on the 3100 block of North Oakland Avenue, near the UWM campus. Officials there later boarded up the windows. A man who works in the area said he saw anti-war slogans written on the windows also. This is not the first time the place has been vandalized. Last year,...

Just got a call from Kristinn on-scene.This is the SECOND round of attacks that the station and Freepers have withstood today.Cops are clearing the street of cars so the violent radicals can march down the street to the recruiting center unencumbered.Crowds have been throwing rocks, paint bombs in GLASS bottles, water bottles, and anything esle they can throw.MPDC Chief Cathy Lanier was there before the attacks, ORDERING HER OFFICERS to DO NOTHING if the station was attacked. No arrests are being made.More info as I get it.Kristinn is asking any Freepers and Friends in the area to come down and stand...

Smithfield — Maj. Dennis McCool is no stranger to war. A retired Army officer, McCool, 60, began his 20-year Army career at the height of an unpopular war. His deployment to Vietnam, where more than 58,000 American soldiers died, lasted for several years. “I have lived for 38 years with a burden that every Vietnam veteran carries,” says McCool, a native of Sanford, Fla. “That burden is that we did not win. It was not our fault... Since returning home in December, the trio has embarked on another mission: to rally support for the troops. They set out on March...

Move America Forward was honored to assist Eagles Up and (Ed: Dr. Zoo made this hot link ------>) Free Republic in organizing today’s events. Chanting such slogans as "surrender is not an option" and waving American flags, a few hundred people from across the country rallied and paraded in downtown Washington yesterday to support the war. The demonstration was sponsored by Eagles UP!, an organization founded by veterans in the wake of a war protest about a year ago that drew thousands to Washington. Although small in number, the demonstrators said yesterday that they represent many others from their home towns who believe there needs to be a more vocal counterweight to the antiwar movement. "We cannot be the silent majority again," Lawrence B....

You guys won’t believe the scene at the National Press Club today. We at Move America Forward were releasing our investigative report on the nationwide plague of attacks against military recruiting centers. (The Sedition Report) Congressman John Carter (co-sponsor of the Semper Fi Act) was there speaking. So too was Debbie Lee, mother of the 1st Navy Seal killed in Iraq. Then, midway through the news conference, members of Code Pink, International ANSWER and Global Exchange start heckling, screaming, yelling. They said our claims of improper actions by anti-war radicals were all lies, that the anti-military activists have been nothing...

Left-Wing Anarchists and Connection to NYC Marine Recuriting Center Bombing Written by Melanie Morgan Friday, 07 March 2008 I am having a flashback. Several, in fact. Each time I write about the bombing of the Marine Recruiting center in New York City, images in my head from the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut meld together. I was there in 1983, reporting for my former employer, ABC. I spent three weeks examining terrorism up close, and it's hate filled connections to Hamas and Hezbollah. Marine Compound, Beirut 1983 I still have nightmares about the deaths of 283 Marines...

Home News Latest Winter Soldiers II: We Won't Stand for More Lies Winter Soldiers II: We Won't Stand for More Lies Written by Melanie Morgan Monday, 10 March 2008 The country is swept up in Obama-mania, the candidate who promises immediate withdrawal from Iraq just as we are winning the war. The anger in the streets is palpable. And in the middle of election madness, the hate-filled rhetoric of the anti-war crowd has gone under the radar of the Mainstream Media. ALERT: An ugly thing is set to happen in Washington, D.C. this week. The same people who are bombing Marine Recruiting Centers...

Washington, D.C., March 4, 2008 – A national coalition of pro-troop and veteran organizations is gathering in the Washington area next week to oppose a planned reenactment of Sen. John Kerry’s infamous “Winter Solider” anti-Vietnam War event that, like its predecessor, will feature “testimony” alleging atrocities committed by American troops this time in Afghanistan and Iraq. Eagles Up www.eaglesup.us and other organizations are taking aim at Winter Soldier II, patterned after a similar event staged by Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry’s Vietnam Veterans Against the War in 1971. Although most of the “veterans” who “testified” in Kerry’s event a generation ago...

Colonel Harry Riley, USA Ret, Chairman of EaglesUp has a message for America. You can read that message on the EagleUp website.Chris Hill, National Director of Gathering of Eagles has this message: All of us remember St. Patrick's Day, 2007. It was blustery, cold, bitter and just about perfect. The time has come to revisit that emotion. Those that would disparage our brave men and women in uniform are planning to congregate in our nation's Capital once again this coming March. The national antiwar-impeachment group, World Can’t Wait, drew 150 people, representing the range of the city’s cultural milieu, to the San Francisco Main Library’s Koret Auditorium Sunday to “drive out the Bush Regime” and reverse its slide toward what many see as an imperial presidency. The meeting was one of at least 11 such events around the country this month and last, from New York to Los Angeles, mobilizing public sentiment for impeachment, despite the repeated insistence by Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party leadership that the issue is “off the table.” An American Research Group poll last week found...

Reality Check for the Antiwar Crowd By Pete Hegseth Monday, June 25, 2007; A19 As an Iraq war veteran who participated in combat operations and political reconciliation efforts, I take issue with some of the arguments repeatedly being made on Capitol Hill. Most recently I was bothered by statements from Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), who cited three common antiwar arguments in his June 21 op-ed, " Lincoln's Example for Iraq," all of which run counter to realities on the ground in Iraq. · A deadline for withdrawal is an incentive for Iraqi political compromise· We can bring the war to...
