This story makes my heart skip a beat.

Two brothers, both Marines, serving their country in Iraq, came home safely to the San Francisco Bay Area last night.

And they were greeted as heroes at the airport by the Patriot Guard Riders, EaglesUP West Coast coordinator Doug Lyvere, family and soon- to- be friends.

KPIX News covered it here.

250 people showed up!

The Boy Scouts waited anxiously to say hello.

I know that readers of this blog from the South, the Midwest and other parts of the country don't get why this is a big deal.

It's because we are in Liberal Land, where many/most do not celebrate the service and sacrifice of our heroes.

Gentlemen, job well done. Welcome home to Joshua and Michael Woodruff.Renee Woodruff is over the moon!

THE LEADING MODERATOR OF FR JUST KILLED NEWS FROM JPOST SAYING THAT AN UPCOMING REPORT WAS ABOUT TO BE PUBLISHED STATING THAT SADDAM WMDS HAD BEEN MOVED TO SYRIA.

AS FREEREPUBLIC DOESN’T WANT TO SPREAD THE STORY (?!), PLEASE GO TO LITTLE GREEN FOOTBALLS WHERE THE STORY HAS BEEN SHOWN :

An upcoming joint US-Israel report on the September 6 IAF strike on a Syrian facility will claim that former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein transferred weapons of mass destruction to the country, Channel 2 stated Monday.

JOSHUA AND MICHAEL WOODRUFF, WE LOVE YOU!

Two brothers, both Marines, serving their country in Iraq, came home safely to the San Francisco Bay Area last night.

And they were greeted as heroes at the Oakland airport by the Patriot Guard Riders, EaglesUP West Coast coordinator Doug Lyvere, family and soon- to- be friends.

KPIX News covered it here.

250 people showed up!

The Boy Scouts waited anxiously to say hello.

I know that readers of this blog from the South, the Midwest and other parts of the country don't get why this is a big deal.

Y'all greet returning servicemen and women all the time.

Not so much here.

It's because we are in Liberal Land, where many/most do not celebrate the service and sacrifice of our heroes.

Gentlemen, job well done. Welcome home to Joshua and Michael Woodruff.

John Woodruff is beyond words.

Renee Woodruff is over the moon. Can you tell from her e-mail?

....The reception at the airport of 45 Patriot Riders was only one piece of the puzzle.  Their arrival in Oakland was celebrated with two fire trucks creating a water arch for the plane to pass through.  Then they were escorted home, where at best count 250 people, were waiting to thank them personally. They included the local VFW bag pipes included to a company of boy scouts standing at attention in front of the flag that would not fit in front of the house (my guess 100ft x 50ft.) Assemblyman Guy Houston was on hand to personally thanked them along with many others to numerous to mention.  When it quieted down I asked them if they knew how much their service was appreciated and how proud of them we are! They got the message!
Semper Fi!!

Renee

This arrival was at the Oakland, CA airport across the bay from San Francisco.

That doesn't have much to do with this story

I think spamming every thread worded in the way you have chozen is a bad idea.

Thanks for the bump, but in the future show some interested in the thread you are bumping please.

Oh, and BTW Free Republic has been in the forefront for years exposing the fact that WMD’s were moved to Syria.

Stating that FR does not want to spread this news not true.

Surely you know that Doctor ZZ

I put a thread about JP story saying an upcoming report will come.

The story has already been showed on April 7, 2008, but most of Freepers haven’t learnt about it.

The thread had 4’000 views one hour ago. But the FR moderator, who is absolutely mindless, pulled the thread.

So the story is gone in the archives, the MSM will be able to keep on lying and the FR has just proven how bad it can be in defending its own cause.

Congratulations.

Bumping the original thread will accomplish the purpose of exposure just fine.

Posting the same article many times would overwhelm FR tremendously is many posters did that.

Post this link in threads about WMD’s when you post if you would like.

Just a couple of suggestions.

I wonder: how hard is it for a private citizen to get ahold
of a flag with only 48 stars?

Great story, Syncro. I love homecomings. In fact, I was browsing YouTube last night to see some:) It hits a special spot in the heart.

My congratulations and thanks to these young MEN, and I rejoice with their proud parents.

They’ve been holding it since WW2, or they are assuming some states may want to relinquish their statehood!
(sarcasm- I think)

G-d bless them all and may they live long and happy lives. They deserve it for being in the furnace of hell and back. They also deserve a lot of the stuff that our welfare leeches subsidize themselves on. A ticker tape parade would also be helpful.

No matter what just remember these are just two of many, many people in our Armed Forces guarding the gates so that we may sleep at night peacefully. They volunteered knowing that they may die on that sand that they would be standing on and sacrificed the essential security components in order to make a foreign nation free of a dictator and us free of future attacks. They knew exactly what they were doing, a lot more than most of us, and know a good amount about what they will do.

It is kind of hard not to salute somebody in service when you really put your mind to what they are doing, a honor that makes me look like a stone demon. Some of us are built warriors, some poets but the warriors help to strengthen the foreign poets and the keepers of civilization’s army. They also help strengthen all of us through their courage, integrity and moral willpower, along with the freedom to give us a spirit.

HOWEVER, to think that a group of lazy sleaze spent their time on the boardwalks of California protesting these troops makes me mad. The character of those whose only idea of liberation from a dictatorship comes from reading post-modernism is of pure vile and vainglory. Many of these troops went into combat not because of pride or because of a sunny day in the park but because they felt like they had to. That laying your sword for your country is the no.1 way to show your patriotism and oath to it.

I really do wish that after the war is over(though it might happen for a while as Iraq is just one rat-trap in the Middle East) all of the soldiers and every citizen in America gathers for a great dinner in New York, and all of the soldiers in heaven who are “laid out by the interstate” as Tim McGraw’s song goes will have a great celebration in heaven. Personally, I forget the title, but Tim McGraw co-wrote(a rarity for him) a recent hit for Country audiences about a soldier that recently departed, a great song. I suggest everybody to listen to it and American Soldier(Toby Keith) realizing that our soldiers in heaven, and on Earth know that their sacrifices are not in vain.
