Anti-God Ads Hit Dallas

by Christine Dao*

In the heart of the Bible belt, billboards stating “Don’t believe in God? You are not alone” have been posted in parts of Dallas, home of the Institute for Creation Research.

The boards are sponsored by the Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason (DFWCoR), an atheist nonprofit group which joins together smaller local anti-theistic organizations to “increase the growth, visibility and acceptance of nontheists throughout the Metroplex.”[1] Two ads have been posted in the D/FW area, one just a few miles from ICR headquarters, and will remain up through April.

According to Fred Edwords of the United Coalition of Reason, a co-sponsor of the ads, “the primary goal of billboards like these is to let nontheistic people—such as atheists, agnostics, freethinkers and humanists—know they aren’t alone.”...

Delicious irony to hear an atheist reminding us that “You are not alone.”

Hey, guys, we know that — it’s the whole point of Christianity!

Alone? As much as God has been driven out of public life by these people...does this moron think that they think that they’re alone? Good Lord almighty they’ve had 30 plus years of court cases to keep them company.

I am sure there is something in the Constitution that limits free speech in home of the Institute for Creation Research.

Yep, how dare such people speak out against billboards from oddly proseylytizing atheists. Don't they know free speech is a one way street? What nerve, those rubes!

They may not want to be alone now, but they will be later.

I remember as a kid, there were a couple of stoners that use to come around bragging that when they got to hell they would be sitting in their rockin' chairs toking up one bong after another. Somehow people believe that there will be some sort of "enjoyment" for the soul in hell.

It’s not just the Bible on the web — it’s in my head since childhood.

First time I saw that billboard, I wondered if whoever designed it missed the double meaning. Or maybe the atheists have a saboteur in their midst.

Maybe we should thank them publicly for making our point.

Ouch!

I don’t think they realize how bad it would suck (no pun intended) to have that bong stuck to their mouth for eternity!

That’s what Satan keeps telling them. It’s the rare self-confessed atheist who really doesn’t believe in God. Most I’ve encountered believe in Him, they just don’t like Him. I think anti-theist better describes them.

Question for atheists: “Why is there something rather than nothing?”

I wonder what they will be saying if they are successful and go to Hell?

"“Don’t believe in God? You are not alone”

Too bad someone with some money doesn't put up some bill boards with that very same message, only with a background picture of people suffering and burning in the fires of H E double L

If you can write the check to the billboard company, you should be able to say what ever you want.

It’s the rare self-confessed atheist who really doesn’t believe in God.

No, they know He is there. Deep down inside they know. Their pride and sin, the darkness in their hearts, won't allow themselves to admit it. But someday they will confess, they will bow down.

Ro 1:
18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. 21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
