Meghan McCain and her senator father, John, have something in common: Neither can say whether they would vote for Sarah Palin come 2012.
Ms. McCain, who has gained prominence for her Daily Beast articles, appeared on CNN last night and couldnt tell Roland Martin whether she would back a potential Palin presidential ticket. Heres the exchange, via GOP12:
MARTIN: Lets talk about Governor Sarah Palin. Shes still in the news, whether its her former I dont know if it was son-in-law-to-be talking and things along those lines.
A lot of folks are saying she should be the choice for 2012. Should she run, and will you support her running for president or for the GOP nomination in 2012?
MCCAIN: I honestly dont think thats a relevant question. I have to find out who is running in 2012, I mean, what theres broad personalities that happen. And its four years from now. A lot of things can happen. A lot of things can change. And I couldnt possibly make a prediction about 2012 right now.
MARTIN: But is she someone who you could conceivably vote for because of what she stands for?
MCCAIN: I dont know. I have to see who else is on the table.
John McCain earlier this month refused to say hed back Palin. The senator, who picked Palin as his running mate last year, said he wanted to see who else would make a White House bid. Clearly the McCain and Palin camps still arent on the best of terms.
Meghan. Have a donut and go away.
Please.
I agree. I don’t really see anything wrong with her answer. Maybe a nod to Palin such as “We like Sarah Palin a lot but I have no idea of she’s even interested in running for the nomination in 2012 and neither do you... so speculating on who I’m going to vote for in 2012 is just silly at this point. We’re barely done with the 2008 election.” That probably could have cut off the “gotcha” at the pass.
Does anyone remember anyone asking if Gore would support Leiberman in 2004 for President right after the 2000 election? The question is designed to leave a perception of a rift in the GOP.
Countdown until Meghan shows her boobies to Playboy -
5...4...3...2...
Bimbo Alert! McPain spews her drivel.
At least Gov. Palin is not a construct. If someone is more techsavy than I, they could go back over Morgan Freeman’s performances as a “president” and see that the inflections, pauses, and motions, posture at the podium and technique is exactly copied from Freeman’s performances. You could probably put examples side by side, Zero/Freeman.
That’s not an accident. Zero was taught by the ad men and directors to “act” presidential.
A fat dyed blonde bimbo. How adorable!!
I think its Maxim once she drops about 40lbs
Meghan seems to be the stereotype Valley Girl.
I agree. Why would anyone select their horse before knowing all the horses in the field?
“Meghan McCain Not Impressed with CNN’s Sarah Palin 2012 Question”
Who made Meghan McCain the arbiter of good answers? Meghan McCain?
I’m not impressed with Meghan McCain...
Nail color. She could replace Campbell Brown at NBC some day.
Enough of this stuff, really.
Meggie, let’s be honest. The only question I really want answered by you is “Was it good for you too?”
omg, she is huge!
i wonder why all these women dominated interviews never have a real feminist like Tammy Bruce on to interview?
I knew there was something she did well!
Palin Ping
I don’t care if she is or is not impressed.
