I agree. I don’t really see anything wrong with her answer. Maybe a nod to Palin such as “We like Sarah Palin a lot but I have no idea of she’s even interested in running for the nomination in 2012 and neither do you... so speculating on who I’m going to vote for in 2012 is just silly at this point. We’re barely done with the 2008 election.” That probably could have cut off the “gotcha” at the pass.
Does anyone remember anyone asking if Gore would support Leiberman in 2004 for President right after the 2000 election? The question is designed to leave a perception of a rift in the GOP.

At least Gov. Palin is not a construct. If someone is more techsavy than I, they could go back over Morgan Freeman’s performances as a “president” and see that the inflections, pauses, and motions, posture at the podium and technique is exactly copied from Freeman’s performances. You could probably put examples side by side, Zero/Freeman.
