Conyers: Obama war plans “embarrassingly naive”
Hot Air ^ | April 10, 2009 | ED MORRISSEY

Barack Obama had better prepare himself for just as much skepticism on Afghanistan at home as he got from Europe. Obama wants $75 billion more allocated for the efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, but his own caucus in the House appears to be balking. Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) called Obama’s plans “embarrassingly naive”, and may put Obama in Bush territory on the wars — looking for Republican cover (via Jim Geraghty):

As I’ve said. He knows nothing about the Military and what they need or don’t need. This guy is a danger to the security of the country. Learning on the job takes on a whole new meaning.

Incumbent Democrats and Democrat candidates run their mouths against incumbent Republicans and the military. Then, when they actually read the security briefings, they change their tune. But they still blame Republicans.

Morons.

Has anyone heard Conyers’ wife’s new talk show? Should be pretty funny.

Hmmm....I think Conyers has something against Obama.

First his comments about investigating ACORN...now this. Jealousy among blacks?

The money quote:

Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.) dismissed Mr. Obama’s plans as “embarrassingly naive,” and suggested that the president is being led astray by those around him. “He’s the smartest man in American politics today,” Rep. Conyers said. “But he occasionally gets bad advice and makes mistakes. This is one of those instances.”

Make no mistake: what Conyers is really saying, is that Obama ain't all that smart after all. The "embarrassingly naive" plan is there, because Obama is not smart or experienced enough to tell the difference between good advice and bad.

Gonna be a loooong four years.....

I’m lost...Obamarx is asking for a ton more money in Afghanistan which he called “the right war”. Haven’t all the Democrats been bleating about how Iraq is a “distraction” from Afghanistan which was “the right war”? You mean they lied and wanted NO war? I simply cannot believe it...........</s>

BTW, I do support Obamarx on the additional money for Afghanistan. We need to do the same thing there as we did in Iraq.

“Bush territory?” At least President Bush never had ratings in “Congress territory.”

That might mean something if Conyers had a brain.

Hmmm, let’s see, according to Conyers being “embarrassingly naive” is no barrier to being the “smartest man in American politics today”, why do I fear that he is right about this?
Then he indicates that all this includes being dumb enough to listen to bad advice and follow it. Ain’t this grand?

John Conyers has been off the Obama-Soros® reservation twice lately, that I know of?

What's with that?
