Thats what the government argued two weeks ago in my organizations Supreme Court case against the Federal Election Commission, Citizens United v. FEC. What I don't understand is why they wouldn't put it together that far more media favors Democrats so a law banning media from trying to influence elections would appear to hurt the Dems.

For such a law to hurt the left would require that it be equally enforced. How equally have election laws been enforced the last couple of decades? Think Chi Com military money and Buddhist Temples and "no controlling legal authority".

No, what they (The Government and “Friends of Government”) are afraid of is free speech and the truth.
