Tea Party movement aims to inspire revolution (Spew-worthy)
The San Francisco Examiner ^ | April 9, 2009 | Wyatt Shev

Posted on 04/11/2009 8:57:40 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

April 15th.

Write that date down; people - it could very well mark the beginning of the end. With the notoriously conservative Tea Party movement gaining steam, is it time to take the ‘United’ out of ‘United States’?

An off-the-cuff and seemingly harmless comment from CNBC drone Rick Santelli- who called for a Chicago ‘Tea Party’ in response to Obama’s handling of the worsening economic situation- has now developed into a full-blown national movement.

On April 15th, hundreds of thousands of PO’d red meat eatin’ Americans will converge on the streets to protest the Obama administration’s policies and platforms. Over 360 cities nationwide have been confirmed as protest staging points, and conservative luminaries like Newt Gingrich and Sean ‘Rough Rider’ Hannity will lend their considerable girth and celebrity to ensure a sense of bloated spectacle.

The Tea (Taxed Enough Already) Party-people consider themselves a coherent and diverse network of Americans from every conceivable walk of life. They are cultural warriors fighting against the tax-happy, spend-happy ways of the evil Obama cabal, real American patriots, and staunch defenders against the creeping evils of Socialism.

In reality, their ‘movement’ is incredibly divisive, a mindset that stands in sharp contrast to Obama’s calls for bipartisanship in this time of great national need. Their arguments have the potential to divide the country along titanic lines not seen since the bloody days of the Civil War.

Think I’m exaggerating here? The Tea Party movement is an incredibly dangerous concept, fuelled by the usual gushes of sycophantic support from the conservative news media (here’s looking at you, Fox). Consider a recent poll posted on Sean Hannity’s website, asking his loyal followers if they thought America was ripe for ‘revolution’. Or perhaps you’ve heard some of the vitriolic treasonous crap spewing forth from the mouth of Fox’s resident white-haired lunatic, He Who Shall Go Unnamed. You can tune in to his show practically any day of the week for an (increasingly) thinly veiled call to arms against the President and his evil liberal cronies.

The Tea Party Movement is basically a flag for Republicans disenfranchised by last year’s election results to rally behind. Give it up, guys. You lost fair and square. Obama and his policies have the mandate of the people- unlike a certain Bush I could mention.

If the country continues down this dark path, a second Civil War might not just be a cool idea for a sci-fi novel anymore. Can you imagine the potential for chaos if some of these ‘protesters’ decide to exercise the Second Amendment and bring their weapons to these rallies? There’s a thin line between peaceful protest and bloodthirsty patriotic fervor, especially if those protesting are used to being on the side of the mighty status quo.

I hope April 15th comes and goes without major incident. And I hope the protesters fail in their mission to bring their message to a national audience. It’s a message of fear, prejudice and, quite frankly, hate.

President Obama was elected democratically, according to the doctrines set forth by the Founding Fathers. The Tea Party movement represents a real danger to the tenets of democracy Americans have embraced for centuries.

There are now only 1351 days left until the End of the World.

As far as I’m concerned, these Tea Parties are a shot across the bow of Socialism.

After these rallies, we need to meet again to decide exactly which actions this Administration will be taking that will trigger our own Ft. Sumpter.

Will it be Amnesty? Implementation of Socialized Medicine? Nationalization of banks? Repeal of 2nd amendment? Cap & trade doubling our energy costs?

All of these and so much more are on Øbama’s agenda.

The time is coming soon when we will need to draw a line.

This is real, Americans. Brace yourselves.

Wow, that wins the prize as the silliest restriction that I’ve heard of yet.

The replies were worth reading. Especially one from Kevin:

“So, what you’re telling us is that you’re not intelligent enough to extract our goals, hopes, and desires from the prose we’ve been writing in response to your diatribe? You require a list, else you will not concede that our goals have been thoroughly made public? Alright...

1) We want our representatives to know that, contrary to their own desires, we do NOT want increased government involvement in our lives. We do not buy the party line (either party) that we’re in such dire times that the gov’t simply must intervene. We recognize our history, and we know that the gross inefficiencies of government never bring prosperity, never leave us better than where we began.

2) We want the Democrats to hear from mainstream America, to understand what we ACTUALLY want, not what their party leadership has told them. We want to remind them that America had two very similar, very Big Gov’t candidates for President in 2008. Our selection of either one of them was not meant as a blank check for their policies.

3) We’d like to remind the Republicans that they’re supposed to be the party of conservatism, which means individual liberty, individual responsibility, limited Government, and free markets. Their behavior recently, especially over the last 8 years, has been a deep blow to conservatism. While claiming the label, they’ve demonstrated entirely opposite motivations.

3) We want our fellow citizens, frustrated and yelling at their TV’s and newspapers, to know that they’re not alone. There are a lot of us that feel this way, far outnumbering any showing the left has been able to produce, but libertarians and (true) conservatives are notorious for keeping out of the national spotlight because they simply desire to live their lives however they see fit.

To quote a national organizer’s blog, “[We’re] under no delusion that we’re going to change the world on April 15th. To assume we believe such would be borderline absurd.” It’s just a step in the right direction, and a step that must be undeniably recognized. At first we were worried that the press wouldn’t pick up our story. Now we’re having to deal with folks like you intentionally obfuscating our message and the purpose of the tea parties. To me, articles like yours are proof that we’re having an impact, and so for that, I thank you.

What will happen at the Tea Parties? Violence? No... that’s a lefty phenomenon. We’re not anti-Government, you see. We’re anti-Big Government. On Wednesday “we the people will shake hands, network, share ideas, discuss our frustrations, let some steam out, and begin to develop new coalitions and citizen groups. April 15th will be Historic in nature not because we instantly changed the world, but because we set in motion a machine that will counter out of control Government and eventually put it back in the hands of the people.”

Yeah, it is pretty silly.

They give us the right to excercise our Right, and then give you a list of places that you’ll get locked up for carrying.

It’ll make you sick sometimes.

The left wing communists want to shut up the true Patriots and take away our most important right, the Freedom of Speech.

I just read through that list and there's an entire section, several paragraphs long dealing with "demonstrations". I guess they really mean it!

On the bright side, at least they appear to allow you to carry at a rest area :)

I’m with you 100%. If anyone gets disarmed it is our civil servants first. Their laws do not change right and wrong any more than Hitler’s and Stalin’s which is what this is starting to look like.

“...hundreds of thousands of PO’d red meat eatin’ Americans will converge on the streets...”

More beef tenderloin, please. I love the stuff!

“... a mindset that stands in sharp contrast to Obama’s calls for bipartisanship...”

What bipartisanship? Have we seen any around lately? What’s even more interesting is this line that appears later in the article which goes so far as to conceed the point that there isn’t any and won’t ever be any...

“Give it up, guys. You lost fair and square. Obama and his policies have the mandate of the people- unlike a certain Bush I could mention.”

Of course the author forgets to mention that Bush won by almost as much as Obama did in 2004. But did we get what we wanted? Were we divisive then? I surely can’t think of anything more divisive than their “My way or the highway” attitude. He is supposed to be governing everyone, not just the people who voted for him. Need they be reminded that they do so with the consent of the governed, and when 46% voted for a moderate, you’d think they’d get the idea that those same 46% of the electorate would be quite offended over a far-left agenda; and frankly strong dissent should be no real surprise.

I didn’t like Bill Clinton and I disagreed with him on many things, but he did not scare the living crap out of me and leave me crying in my beer over what this country could become like Obama does. This dispicable pinko wannabe dictator makes Bill Clinton look almost like a saint. I’d much rather have him back than have to suffer through watching the freedoms that so many real patriots and heros fought and gave their lives for be pissed away in the blink of an eye. Just the thought of this low life with the chesshire cat grin being in the position he is makes me feel ill.

I digress. This article shows the total and complete miscalculation regarding the degree of reverence we hold our founding principles, our constitution, and freedoms endowed by our creator; ideas that have been won with blood, that they think could be so handily disposed of in the course of one election. Those frozen, starving, bootless soldiers on the banks of the Patomic, a ragtag army facing the well oiled war machine of the day, will not so easily be forgotten. These Tea Parties are for them and those like them who are yet to be.

I liked this one:

"Seriously, when did bringing prosperity to the less fortunate become a 'crime' or 'treason to the principles were were founded on.' "

Where exactly is "bringing prosperity to the less fortunate," which statist politicians both R and D have been failing at for better than sixty years now anyway, mentioned in the Constitution, pray tell? Along with government takeovers of entire industries, and rates of taxation that are actually higher than the ones that inspired the original Tea Party?

How long do we go on piling error upon error in your grand social experiment before you admit your "third way" has been a miserable failure every time and everywhere it's been tried? With every incremental new program your side proposes, no acknowledgment is ever made that if the previous ones had achieved what we were told they would, we wouldn't even be having this discussion in the first place? How long before you admit that the US has been the world's undisputed economic powerhouse for a very long time now, and that it is so for a reason, and that reason is most certainly not that we don't have enough central government planning of the economy, by comparison with other, less successful nations?

You want to live under Euro-style socialism, leave. There are planes, trains, buses, ships, and other conveyances leaving every day for countries that more closely conform to your big-government utopian vision. Depart from us in peace; we ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen, to quote a great American you properly-socialized government-school ignoramuses probably never heard of.

Let those of us who actually understand and revere the Constitution -- rather than viewing it as an obstacle to be sidestepped when it's inconvenient to our collectivist goals -- retain what's left of our freedom. Or be prepared to fight to take it from us.

The present-day Tea Parties are a warning: this far, and no further. Heed it, or don't. You have options for living under the kind of government you prefer, a government that contradicts every notion the Founders ever advanced in debates, writing, speeches, and pamphlets. Take them.

Just don't for a moment expect that we'll lie down quietly and let you transform this nation into something it was never intended to be without a murmur of protest. And don't even dream of whining when your Marxist Messiah gets some of the same slop thrown at him that you guys have been slinging at us for the last eight years -- actually, much longer than that. You want to dish it out, you'd best be prepared to take it when it comes splashing back at you.

You mean, on a respirator.

They are handing out free copies on BART and they still hammer the Commie drivel (Bush’s fault, gay/gay/gay, all crime has an explantion, snatch all guns, Newsome is great, illegals are all wonderful, Christian heterosexual white males are the cause of all world problems...)

Die, Chronicle, die.

Fear of a Communist maggot Kenyan who hires Eric Holder, who represented Muslim terrorists at GITMO pro bono.

Prejudice against fiscal, cultural and Global tyranny, yes.

Hate - a nice term the Liberals use to freeze you, like “racist” when in fact they hate when you call their bluff and know they are defying the Constitution.
