The fat apologist for Barky says we’ll have to wait a year or two to see if his approach (grovelling to islam) works.

I think we are seeing how it works right now.

FNS panel are doing the 'woe is me' on what to do with the pirates.

==

FoxNews commentator earlier said that one solution might be to have armed guards (similar to air marshalls) on them, but "who is going to pay the cost?"

==

[Dunce! $Millions in tribute would go along way in paying for a few dozen armed guards.]

[We have too many policy makers and not enough decision makers running things.]

FNS panel even seems to be excusing the pirates because the pirates don't have anything better to do, due to their living conditions yada yada yada.

Wallace hit the nail on the head for the companies: Paying tribute to the pirates is just the Cost of Doing Business.

You’re right.

A year from now Iran will have nukes, and possibly launch against Israel, Somali pirates will have hundreds of US sea men hostages, and North Korea will have had several ICBM test launches.

What a great president! /sarcasm

Gregory has a financial guy on who says he and his buddy have a program that is trying to instruct people about financial and economic issues.

It would probably help if the guy wasn’t so completely inarticulate.

I well remember the Carter administration. This is heading down the same road, although at a faster pace.

The first error is that of the "Obama doctrine," which obviously no one knows how to define or if there is even one to begin with.

George Bush was easy for foreign leaders (both good and bad) to understand. The Bush doctrine of terrorism was clear, concise, and to the point. No wiggle room (hence Ghaddafi's abandonment of a nuclear program).

No one understands what Obama's doctrine is, other than "please like me because I am black and not George Bush." Consequently, we are going to have a series of foreign crises escalating in severity through the next four years.

Continuing to draw on my memory of the Carter years, we are going to have weak and ineffective military responses because of the administration's reluctance to engage, as well as sending the military on missions which are either impossible to win or are situations which are inappropriate for the military, like famine relief. We will project no force against any Muslim nation, no matter how severe the provocation.

Domestically, we will flounder in the doldrums, unable to achieve prosperity because of government interference in health care, energy, banking, and real estate. Taxes will rise and so will the ranks of the unemployed.

I also expect to see increasing efforts to undermine the social fabric of this nation with attacks on traditional values, religion, and groups such as the Boy Scouts, small business, and private schools.

Obama Vows Deep Cuts In Spending [Flashback: Urging Own Party Fiscally Tough As Republicans]

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2227489/posts?page=1

Urging members of his own party to be just as fiscally tough as the most conservative Republicans, Obama said the $700 billion economic bailout plan proposed by the Bush administration and congressional leaders is forcing a renewed look at federal spending.

`We are here because an ethic of irresponsibility has swept through our government, leaving politicians with the belief they can waste billions and billions of your money on no-bid contracts for friends and contributors, slip pork projects into bills during the dead of night and spend billions on corporate tax breaks we can’t afford and old programs we don’t need,’’ said Obama.

Happy Easter, everyone. I hope one of the future media panel shows is focused on what America will look like after 4 years of Barack Obama in the White House.

FNS

Brit says Obama Admin need to ‘move on’ and quit blaming everything on Bush — Obama is prez now.

[Reminds me of a female who became dept manager. She blamed the previous manager for every ill she encountered. This went on for 2 years. One day she blamed the former for a new problem. I commented to another (knowing it would get back to her) ‘she can’t blame that one on the former; he was gone long before that job was even bid’. She reached a point where she could no longer viably blame the former.]

We have too many policy makers and not enough decision makers running things.

Boy, do I agree with this. Wife and I saying the same thing earlier this morning.  This, and that one of the major differences between Democrat liberals and conservatives is they seem to believe we can support all manner of non-productive special interest groups without consequences.  They don't understand the dynamics of a productive society and the non-productive that can only exist by taking from the productive so they can give it to the unproductive.  Eventually, it has to fail by definition.

Father Jonathan Morris on Fox and Friends discussing the Newsweek cover touting the decline of Christianity. Apparently the article is trying to convince people that Christianity is falling out of favor and smart people aren't Christians, you know, the usual anti-Christian stuff they publish during Holy Week.

Father Morris says he is not sure he has ever bought a Newsweek, but he can assure everyone he will never buy one for the rest of his life.

That is the very reason Senators make poor executives — they are from the deliberative body.

They deliberate.

They bloviate.

They speechify.

The only thing they really ‘do’ is cast a vote. They don’t even have to read what they are voting on.

Morning AB, All...

As always, thanks to AB for posting this thread. Happy Easter to all, Jesus Christ is risen today.

I have a really good story about last night’s Easter vigil although your mileage may vary.

But first, about those “economists” on Fox’s Mike Wallace, I wanted to slap them until next Sunday.

Understand, for truth in posting here, that I think economists are like global warming scientists, they say what will promote their own careers, they lick their finger and hold into the air, they follow the TV appearances that they might hype their books, they look for the government grants.

In some cases, the administration itself may call on one who sells his or her self for the mighty dollar, to appear and hype their own needs.

Thus The Wise I shall tell you, with no hope of remuneration or personal greed, just what is going on with the economy.

You are all welcome in advance.

The heads of the mutual funds, the speculators, the hedge fund holders, all of them LOVE the stock market. It’s what they do.

Houses, no matter the clarion call that they all are going down in value, NEVER, over any discernible length of time, go DOWN in value.

Thus there are deals. The housing market has already, as expected and as common sense would dictate, begun to climb in terms of sales. Oh yeah, and spring is upon.

Now that the stock market went down to a little over 6500, it has begun to climb and will likely continue a slow climb for a couple of years but at some point it will be back to almost 14000. Still and so, those whose 401-K’s took a tank will likely recover most of it by hanging in there for, oh maybe another year.

Because Americans do what Americans do. Administrations might, just throwing it out there, abuse and mishandle the system for their own ends and I’m just sayin’.

Which is not to say that our economical health is perfect, oh no. For too many years Americans have abused the credit boom, come on, without credit cards and the ability to buy what we shouldn’t oughta, that economy would never have reached the burning point it did.

Also, the politicians will, if possible, abuse the system to the limits of their powers, though I know y’all might find that hard to believe.

So if giving $800,000 mortgages to school bus drivers gets me some votes, well somewhere there’s a dusty law or two that I can abuse to get my way.

The souffle does, thus, implode.

Americans have, of course, pulled back on their spending. So many of us are dealing with credit cards that we over-extended, those vacations and fine meals we had on them long forgotten but the max is reached, the interest is high, the piper must be paid.

Then there’s that mess with the automotive industry and let’s not give the unions any slack. Whatever and however you may argue it, the mighty car makers suffered for trying to please the unions and achieve CAFE standards the gubmint imposed on behalf of their contributing communist environmental wackos and for which most Americans care not a whit. I’m just sayin’.

It goes on, almost in a cycle. The economy downturns a bit. Americans pull back and ruminate on their spending habits. Politicians use the system to their own dishonest ends, along with unions and yeah, wall street speculators get in on the action while the going gets good.

I am reminded of the S&L crisis during the Clinton years, hell by manipulating that is how we ended up with Bill and Hill. There was the dot.com bubble.

That’s the REAL scoop and they have yet to ask the most ordinary ME to guest on the shows to lay it all on the line.

Of course not.

Because they all hope that they too may ride the crest of an economic wave someday and it would not do for us to learn from our mistakes.

Yes sir, which is why representatives and senators rarely make good executives. This is also my first response to the past election as far as candidates went. Few on our side really had executive experience, and those who did could not attract the base. I think that’s why we got McCain, by default.

But I’m not done....

I often complain about our well-tanned, handsome, polished-nailed Republican congress critters who never deal with their dishonest FRIENDS across the aisle that their head hairs should always remain in their appointed places.

For example, I should have thought Boehner, who never met a tanning booth he did not like, would be holding press conferences a la Harry Reid over that shameful trip of the Dem. Black Caucus to visit the evil Castro.

Damn you’d think they’d have op-eds in the Wall Street Journal, that Fox News couldn’t report on car chases for the bevy of fine pub fellows wanting guest spots that they may point out to Americans how the Black Caucus, so formed to protect their own recently enslaved selves, went and bowed to a dictator who enslaves his own people.

Speaking of bowing....heh. Well where the hell are the pubbies lambasting that sad action by Obama?

so okay, I have two congrats to my pubs who I always criticize. Fair being, of course, fair.

First, I got an email from the senatorial pubbies of all folks, complaining about the congressional black caucus, good on them. Problem is...I AM THE FREAKING CHOIR!!

It would, likely, muss head hairs and risk angering their friends across the aisle, but the pubs gotta have press conferences. Get one of them to ask Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi how to do it for God’s sake.

Also,....the biggest prize of them all...

CONGRATULATIONS TO KARL ROVE!!!

Send up the flairs and fill his twitter box with congrats because the man actually, get this...

CALLED A LIAR A LIAR!!!

Imagine that.

And he lives today, his few remaining head hairs seem to still be in place. He likely had to leave the tanning booth as Rove is a bit pasty but we forgive.

They all need gonad transplants but point being...there is hope out there.

Now get out and attend a tea party.

We got McCain because the Media and Mike Huckabee made sure we had the WORST CANDIDATE EVER.

Howie had a short panel that brought up the bow; the liberal consensus (Howie and two of the guests) claimed it was only an issue to the right wing conservatives, but not a big deal to most americans. Could be because the media essentially spiked the story and did not show the video much. Typical Howie panel...he sides with the libs.

Up later on his show will be Deborah Norville to discuss the media coverage of Bristol and Levi.

Pathetic.

This of course after the introduction on the show about the new first puppy.

Liberal media folks lost in the liberal media bubble again.

I won’t argue the point. I actually think we got exactly what we deserved. Republicans strayed from conservative values and positions for a long time and it remains to be seem if our leadership understands that or can change their direction before 2010.
