Writing for The New Republic in 1932, where both he and Chase were editors, Wilson famously blasted Chase and others for being irremediably moderate, for praising the Soviet Union yet expressing reservations about Marxism. Chase's "political thinking," Wilson explained, "is mediocre because" his "solidarity is middle class." "A genuine opposition," Wilson wrote, "must . . . openly confess that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are due to be supplanted by some new manifesto and some new bill of rights. It must dissociate its economics completely from what is by this time a purely rhetorical ideal of American democracy . . . [which is] bound up in our minds with the capitalist system." And, Wilson argued, since the herd can be sold on anything, he wanted the public relations techniques that had come of age in the 1920s applied to selling Marxism. "I believe that if the American radicals and progressives who repudiate the Marxian dogma and the strategy of the Communist Party hope to accomplish anything valuable, they must take Communism away from the Communists . . . with ambiguity or reservation, asserting emphatically that their ultimate goals is the ownership of the means of production by the government and an industrial rather than regional representation."

Worse than useless idiots, they think they're really smart and entitled to lead us to utopia.

"'The Black Book of Communism,'; a scholarly accounting of communism’s crimes, counts about 94 million murdered by the supposed champions of the common man (20 million for the Soviets alone), and some say that number is too low."

Forgetting the Evils of Communism: The amnesia bites a little deeper

"they both argued eloquently in the tradition of John Stuart Mill and H.G. Wells for a clerisy, a secular priesthood that could Europeanize America...To attain that "religion of humanity," Croly called for a Rousseau-like "reconstruction" of American ideals "on a platform of possible human perfectibility."

Someone needs to take the discussion of liberalism and Obammunism to this connection with Rousseau, Rousseau's Discours sur l’origine et les fondements de l’inégalité parmi les hommes, and the quest for human perfectability that developed out of the Enlightenment through the various forms of utopian socialism.

"This is not the entire story of modern liberalism, but its dispositions recur time and again, down to the present, as the ongoing intellectual lineaments of liberal ideology." Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of AMerica's Left, from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning"

Goldberg's well annotated historical text is a signal work which explores and exposes the modern techniques employed by liberal leftists to bring about a fascist Utopian state using created " environmentalism" , " ecomomic crisis" and other factors to diminish traditional American freedoms. These techniques are adapted to our times and are the same as those used by Wilson, calls to action, neigborhood watches ,national civilian service, nationalisation of critical economic institutions.

NONE OF THIS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO STAND!

If Liberalism is such a good thing, why do Liberals lie about being Liberal?

Because they are no longer liberals. They have morphed into the next insectoid stage: national Socialists who have an ideology of "historical justice" for the "underprivileged" and "downtrodden." The children will be made to pay for the alleged wrongs of their ancestors. This is the traditional calling card of ALL fascists, which will be the final insectoidal evolution, now in process. This is the reason for the continuing Obama campaign, that never stopped after the election.

The liberals lie about being liberals because they are no longer liberals. Senator Lieberman, for example, is a liberal, his former colleagues have left him unevolved. The bug change happened at the Dem convention in the Obama bully caucuses which resulted in the outing of millions of "liberals" ( PUMAPAC.org). Liberals are dinosaurs. So are progressive conservatives.

As people awaken, they will chose national socialism vs.Conservativism. And we must win.

The Education of Henry Adams, described his disappointment with an American society that did not pay him his due deference. . . . Adams's sour complaints of being bypassed turned his sense of himself as a failure into a judgment against the American people."

Described this way, I would suggest a college course comparing and contrasting Adams' work with Mein Kampf.

Herbert Croly, whose seminal 1907 book The Promise of American Life was the first manifesto of modern liberalism, is best remembered for proposing Hamiltonian means to obtaining Jeffersonian ends, a proposition admired by both Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt.

In my own ruminations of American political developments from the "first party system" (Hamilton/Jefferson) to today, I have often used the expression "Hamiltonian means to achieve Jeffersonian ends." This is the first time I have seen or heard it elsewhere. This along with the exposure of that child of genuine Federalists, Henry Adams, depresses me greatly. As a historical Federalist myself I have always been at pains to distinguish the statism/centralism of the Federalists from the statism/centralism of modern leftism/liberalism.

But can this after all be done? When one considers that America's current political map (coasts verses the Midwest/Southeast) has remained static sense the days of William McKinley (when they supported the opposite parties that they do today), that the "liberal Eastern establishment" is made up of the same families who formerly made up the "conservative Eastern establishment," and the fact that the New Deal, for all its Jeffersonianism, was predicated (as is all modern liberalism) on the Hamiltonian interpretation of the Constitution (and of the nature of the Union), I can only feel shame at my own political heritage.

Then of course there is the fact that contemporary conservatism, as explicated in an article posted to FR a few months ago, can actually be traced to progressive/populist and ultimately Jeffersonian forebears.

No wonder the John Birch Society obsesses about the Rockefellers.

Thank you. We really do need to educate the next generation. Where else will they learn the truth. In school? On TV? Popular magazines? Hollywood celebs?

Americans would have to be "re-educated" in camps, similar to what the communists did in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and other countries they had taken over.

I have a different idea about those who get "re-educated." It's the brain dead left. They were never educated in the first place, just indoctrinated in their fantasy utopia.

“national Socialists”

No. They are international, which makes them Communists.

They are always talking about OTHER nations, as if we were inferior to them in every way. They want to adopt other country’s and world court decisions.

Behind all this gobbledegook propaganda is the NWO gathering up all the nations for Antichrist to rule. You know who’s behind that.
