Maybe he just doesn’t know that there are people who disagree with his massive tax and spend agenda. That would explain a lot. Perhaps the network media’s near silence on the “tea party” phenomenon has kept President Obama from realizing that hundreds of tax day protests will happen today?
“The White House says the president is unaware of the tea parties and will hold his own event today,” ABC’s Dan Harris said on “Good Morning America” on April 15.
Harris’s story was the first ABC News report specifically about the tea parties since Rick Santelli’s of CNBC’s famous rant calling for a Chicago Tea Party back in February. CNBC’s Joe Kernen referred to Santelli’s impact on spurring the tea parties as a “cultural phenomenon.”
Santelli reacted on April 15 to the hundreds of protests scheduled for tax day around the country saying “I’m pretty proud of this.”
NBC also addressed the tea parties in passing on April 15 “Today.” Chuck Todd dismissed the protests as “so-called” tea parties and said “the idea hasn’t really caught on.”
He’s going to visit the flood areas of ND & IA? He’s going to tour the aftermath of tornados?
He’s going to go anywhere to meet with people who have experienced disasters this year?

I just had a conversation with two co-workers of mine who are Democrats; neither had ever heard anything about the Tea Parties. The first they heard of it was via the Paul Krugman column in the NYT of a few days ago. The funny thing was that one of these co-workers then parroted Krugman’s line that the Tea Parties were all a GOP set-up. I just laughed in his face, and told him that the GOP leadership has neither the intelligence nor the courage to balance a checkbook, much less something as big as this.
Don’t underestimate how insular the thinking of liberals can be.
There is absolutely no way that a, well I was going to say man, with public relations queen David Axelrod as an advisor, doesn’t know about this, is polling it, and tracking it. If he truly does not, the public relations queen is not earning its pay, and should be sacked.

No. He is given to addressing the fallen heroes assembled before him. He said so. Right in front of a crowd of living heroes...in one of the 57 states.
