MALKIN: 'Right-wing extremism' alarm
The Washington Times ^ | April 16, 2009 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 04/16/2009 4:01:28 AM PDT by Scanian

What and who exactly are President Obama's homeland-security officials afraid of these days? If you are a member of an active conservative group that opposes abortion, favors strict immigration enforcement, lobbies to protect Second Amendment rights, protests big government, advocates federalism or represents veterans who believe in any of the above, the answer is - you.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has turned her attention away from acts of Islamic jihad on American soil (which she now refers to as "man-caused disasters"). Instead, her department is sounding the alarm over an unquantified "resurgence" in "right-wing extremism activity." On April 7, the Homeland Security Department sent a nine-page warning memo to law-enforcement offices across the country titled "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."

The report includes a sweeping definition of the threat:

"Right-wing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

"Homeland Security Department sent a nine-page warning memo to law-enforcement offices across the country"

Memo also used as a litmus test to see which "Law Enforcement Offices" will Goose Step to Obies Fascist Directives.

Given the fact that police didn’t feel a need for riot gear for yesterday’s protests, I’m guessing in they won’t.

I was posting that this would happen way back when it looked as if maybe Hussein would win it. It happened with Clinton. Lefties say it is just turnabout because the Republicans targeted their friends and allies with the security agencies. Lefties don’t care if we lose a couple of cities and maybe the Southwest so long as they get complete and secure power.

The Obama regime will stop at nothing to polarize our society.

Our President, Mr. 15 degrees (the angle of his head forever tilted upward)is clearly dedicated to reversing the progress of our country. Ironically, he is doing it in the name of progressiveness.

I havent heard any reports of arrests of unruly demonstrators.

You can’t fake class (the obamas can learn something here).

This is a Stalinist abomination - basically they are declaring their political opponents as enemies of the State. This is Stalin, Castro, Hitler, Mao, the worst offenders of human rights in the history of the world. This is exactly what these people have done to silence opposition.

We are approaching terrible times.

Was Obama serious about outlawing the Catholic Church? It seems like he is trying? First forcing their hospital to perform abortions, now declaring the Church an extremist organization. Can it possibly be?

It's reminiscent of the labeling of the guys in white shirts and ties with pocket protectors that were portrayed as a violent Right Wing Mob when they refused to allow the DemonRATs to sneak behind closed doors to count votes in Florida.

“Lefties say it is just turnabout because the Republicans targeted their friends and allies with the security agencies.”
Well, yes, but that's because their friends and allies are the ones that are actively seeking to destroy our country. I've said it before, and here it is again: If you want to know what a DemonRAT is really up to you just have to listen to what they are accusing the opposition of doing.

Nailed it. That's me on every count.

It was awesome, all across the country a peaceful, thoughtful organized protest.

The DUmmies are so sad, all their efforts to create an ill wind at the events were but a shallow fart in the breeze.

This is a trial balloon to gauge the outrage, and to lay the groundwork (should they feel they can get away with it based on the response they got) for a suspension of habeas corpus if economic conditions worsen.

This has been carefully thought out by these people.

I told folks a year a go this was part of the game plan. I was laughed at. Not so damn funny now.

...rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority...

Dang, what about the 20 some States who have, or are in the process of, passing 10th Amendment resolutions? Are they on the list too?

Anyone have a link to the actual homeland security report? A caller to talk radio was reading a statement on page 4 of it that included those believing in end-times Bible Prophecy as potential threats.

You are so right, ChildOfThe60s.

I too have been shouting this since 2001 and was called things I can't repeat here. Oddly, the stone-throwing came from many who staunchly supported GWB. I told them then that he was setting the stage (as an NWO elitist himself) for the loss of our God-given rights and our flip to outright communism. Obama is just another member of that same club who is going to continue pushing the NWO agenda as far as he can. His replacement (if we don't fight back) will do the same.

I, for one, intend to fight back.

those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority,

So, if you believe in Federalism, like the Constitution does, then you are anti-government, as in anarchist? Does "government" only mean centralized, big government to these people and State and local govt doesn't count? (yes)

or rejecting government authority entirely.

So, either way you are an anarchist if you don't cede powers to the Federal govt that are not specifically enumerated in the Constitution.

Therefore you are a right wing extremist and the local authorities have now been *officially* warned to be on the lookout for people like this (me) because we are a violent threat. Wow. Just wow.

And Napolitano says that the report isn't "accusatory." So what is the point of the report then? Isn't a report like this *supposed* to accuse the bad actors of being bad actors and the report exists to alert the authorities?

Again, wow. Just wow. I'm really more depressed than usual.

Cute. So hatred of Christianity is now redefined as "right-wing." Someone better send a memo to DU.
