FYI:

THE ROOSEVELT MYTH by John T. Flynn from years ago remains a key source about this era.

As Harry "The Hop" Hopkins said, "Tax, Tax, Spend, Spend, Elect, Elect!"

dim-0-crats know how to exercise political power, and having gotten it back now, they will use it no "ifs, ands, or buts" or even "is is".

Consider the refrain: create five million new jobs, to create or save three million jobs, to now save 0.5 million jobs ... with no comment about those shifts. Perhaps the good people of Ohio, California, ..., etc., missed those changes.

This is what communists want to do, spend the government into bankruptcy and then blame capitalists. Thus, can we conclude the government in the US is currently communist?

And isn’t the CNN anchor also following the same ideal shown in the cartoon when she tries to enforce how the “Land of Lincoln” will get $50 Billion dollars for Illinois? Spend Spend Spend...oh yeah, and protesting against this spending spree “isn’t family viewing”.

Bottom line, this fight is not new. Pick sides folks.

Great image. Just goes to show you that as soon as something is created which good and true like the Constitution there are people who show up to attack and malign it.

Some of us knew this from birth.

The “dims” have always been socialists.
And when they win, they become communists/fascists/marxists/nazis.
But some of those who know this, still vote in such a way as to get the traitors in. :-\

As Harry "The Hop" Hopkins said, "Tax, Tax, Spend, Spend, Elect, Elect!"

The Obama MO is Spend, Spend, Spend, tax into oblivion (we haven't gotten to that last part yet).

Yes, it is very noticeable that the machinations of of the current administration are causing a revival of historical interest in the New Deal because of the similarities.

The only character in the cartoon I'm completely unfamiliar with is "Richberg." Strange that FDR himself is not depicted.

Fitting that the cartoon was done by the Chicago Tribune, which, under the McCormack family, was well-known to be a leading voice of conservatism up until the 70s when it changed ownership. A major difference between that period and today is that many leading MSM organs (primarily newspapers at the time) were anti-statist then, which is clearly not the case currently.

From the Chicago Tribune to boot. Irony.

No irony at all that it was from the Chicago Tribune. Back then, under the ownership of the McCormack family, it was unmistakably a conservative publication. It veered left only after it was sold some time in the 1970s or thereabouts.

The present day Ickes' father was initally a Republican, who was Roosevelt's Secretary of the Interior.

Both parties have been corrupt since the get go. Which is one of the reasons I’m not sending money to the RNC any more. I will judge the candidate and send the money directly to their campaign. Not to say that won’t benefit the other, but we need to not let an oligarchy pick our candidates. As long as we still have the vote (which it may be too late for considering ACORN now has an in with our current government)we need to proactively use it to get the right candidates.

Let's hope oBOWma is less successful at socializing America than FDR, although FDR's most notorious and enduring accomplishment was Social Security. We will be lucky to get though this 180 degree left turn with only one long lasting millstone around our necks. The most refeshing point with the 1934 political cartoon is that the socialists do not historically succeed or endure here in America.
