Why is it going to a grand jury?? Although there are far too few details, if those that are presented bear out the “he was a criminal and they defended themselves” story, I guess it’s Grand Jurys in Texas that award the medals for marksmanship and saving tax dollars for furure prisoners!

I don’t know the details of what requires grand jury hearings, etc. I know that a grand jury no bill finding clears the person. For me I think I’d want that clearance.

No, that isnt it at all. That is normal. And this is Dallas. She will be fine.In the 'burbs, yes. But the City of Dallas itself, is becoming as liberal as Austin.

Not enough details but it may also be the way to clear the ladies of any criminal accusations even is none or brought.Plus, I think, getting no-billed by the GJ prevents you from being sued in civil court by the perp's survivors.

The DA can investigate without a grand jury.

Does a no-bill hold the same weight as an acquittal, i.e., double-jeopardy applies? No, you can take it to another Grand Jury later if you don't like the result you got - or if the DA's office changes hands before the Statute of Limitations runs.

With no charges being filed by the DA that’s the major reason I’d want a no bill from the GJ. I don’t think it could stop a civil suit for pain/suffering, etc. but I think it would help in the jury decision regarding the outcome. JMO.
