WASHINGTON (CNN) – Meghan McCain warned a group of gay Republicans Saturday that there was "a war brewing in the Republican Party" – a war between the past and the future.
"Most of the old school Republicans are scared s***less of that future," she told a gathering of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group of gay and lesbian party members.
The 24-year-old daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain pushed back against critics upset over her comments to CNN that she wanted President Obama to succeed, and played down her recent headline-grabbing feuds with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. "I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident," she said.
"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes…I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party," she said. "But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past…

Yep. While Ann Coulter is highly successful on her own, little McCain is being propped up by the media, hoping that they can use her to prevent a conservative rebirth in the GOP. I’m sure she likes being used, as no one could be so dumb as to not see what they’re doing with her.
The name calling on these daily Hate-McCain threads are a good indication that she makes a legitimate point. Not that any of this is any change from the Hate-McCain threads during the election, when you were the main FR cheerleader working for his loss and thus Obama’s win.

Btw, I don’t think “conservatives” are obsolete. But flat earth buffoons who want to revive the Know-Nothing Party certainly are. Pity that type will continue to drag down the rest of us.

Hey, I've now found one good reason to be glad McCain isn't Prez--no having to put up with this dingbat as a First Daughter.
If she is indicative of where the party itself is going, then I no longer want to be a part of the party. I’ve already quit sending any money, as did a friend of mine.
