FAA says low-flying plane over Staten Island is 'pre-planned' flight to take photos by Staten Island Advance Monday April 27, 2009, 10:03 AM
A plane, that appears to be a commercial jet tailed by fighter jets, is a "pre-planned" military flight taking photos of the Statue of Liberty, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Reports indicate it may be Air Force One.
"It is pre-planned, pre-coordinated with everyone involved," said FAA spokesman Jim Peters. "It's a military flight over New York to take photos."
Peters, who stressed it is not an emergency, said the flight is circling the Statue of Liberty and New York City to take photos.
Peters said city officials as well as state government agencies in New York and New Jersey were briefed on the flight in advance.

My husband is a photoshop wizard, so that was the first thing that popped into my mind. With all the resources the Zero has at hand, why this stunt?
I hope they can confirm Obama’s whereabouts between 10 and 10:30. I really want to know for certain he was not on this joy ride.

If people weren't already nervous about Obama, this will have to do it! Man, what a weird thing to do, especially without giving advanced notice to people living and working in the area.

WHY WAS THE NY POLICE DEPARTMENT BARRED FROM ALERTING THE PUBLIC? Unless it was a campaign commercial for the big ZERO using tax payer dollars!!?

I have to stick up for the people who were jumping through their asses. The ones who experienced 911 up close seeing a jetliner tailed by fighters buzzing their rooftops are likely to get just a bit puckered.

Well, I for one think Americans(especially New Yorkers) deserve a better explanation than the vague one they are getting about this stunt so far.
I was just thinking of writing the same thing. These guys are morons. I am sure they scared a few people.
