Furious Obama Apologizes: "It Will Never Happen Again"
A furious President Barack Obama ordered an internal review of Monday's low-flying photo op over the Statue of Liberty.
CBS 2 HD has discovered the feds will have plenty to question.
Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.
In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration's James Johnston said the agency was aware of "the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes" in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor's office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.

Based on my experience as part of WH advance teams for more than a dozen visits, they are not done quite often. Security for the plane is very high and every effort is made not to expose it to any unnecessary risk. This instance is not normal.

People knew so why the cover up? Why the secrecy? Why the threats to the NYC PD not to inform anyone? Who was on the plane? Who was taking the photos?
There is so much wrong with this story it is insane.
If the buck stops at Obama who is going to be held accountable?

If you watched the coverage on ABC or NBC this morning - they called it the "Air Force" and never mentioned Air Force One until the very end.... The words at the bottom of the screen was something like "Scare over New York caused by Air Force flyover"..... I was so mad!!!
So this would only be done at the request of the person in the WH, right?

We are allowing Obama to use this plane to do business for the American people, as it does belong to us. Evidently he does not respect our sacrifices for his comfort, safety and convenience, or he would willingly release any and all information regarding this flight, including the passenger list, to us, the owners of this fricking plane.

Aerial photography of all of the Air Force Weapon Systems is done quite often. This is done for many reasons including public relations, recruitment, and in-flight tests.
Admittedly, I don't know how often Air Force One is used for this purpose, but here is an example:

We’re not being given all the facts IMO.
This has all the ear markings of a set up against the military, or someone knew something and wanted to run a decoy to draw someone out.
This didn’t just happen without good reason, against all the raised problems it would crate.

AF1 photo-ops have been going on for years. I doubt that Obama even knew it was happening, other than maybe they told him the backup plane would not be available for a day.
I live near Andrews AFB where they keep AF1 and the flying command post and they used to exercise taking off and egressing at low altitude. Made for a real eye-opener the first time they flew over my car on the way to work.

I don’t watch the NBC, ABC, CBS morning shows because they irritate me (!) so I didn’t see that. I heard something on FOX but wasn’t paying attention then.
Anyway, what you describe is inexcusable. I’m wondering if obama isn’t planning to make the military look bad just in time for those photos to come out supposedly showing torture and abuse. I didn’t think it was possible for my opinion of him to get any lower, but he’s managing to make it happen. What kind of man would pull a stunt like this and then blame those who are watching out for him? It’s disgraceful.

You can't look at the videos and not tell me that people were not injured running away, running down stairs or there wasn't an accident or two.

The Whitehouse issued this order and endangered American lives and threatened assault with Air Force two. That may not have been your intent but what if your stupid stunt had gone wrong?
