Specter Could Face Challengers in Democratic Primary
Fox News ^ | Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Not all Pennsylvania Democrats are down with Arlen Specter.

Though the party-switching senator has the support of President Obama and Gov. Ed Rendell, at least two potential candidates are leaving open the door to challenge Specter in the 2010 Democratic primary.

Rep. Joe Sestak, who's been a prolific fundraiser, is considering defying party leaders and running against Specter despite Tuesday's hoopla, though he told FOXNews.com on Wednesday, "I have not made up my mind on it."

Maybe Arlen will end up with no party.

Was that part of the deal? Or maybe there wasn’t a deal? Hard to believe. Maybe Spector’s losing his marbles.

It would make my day to see him defeated in the rat primary.

I’m afraid that there is no way to limit the list of objectionable disgusting senator to ten. Better yet, find ten good ones!

Wait till you read this:

“Rep. Joe Sestak, who’s been a prolific fundraiser, is considering defying party leaders and running against Specter despite Tuesday’s hoopla, though he told FOXNews.com on Wednesday, “I have not made up my mind on it.” “

I don’t rule out Sestak actually running. I’ve read that he’s an arrogant, reckless hothead.

This is what Dems are going to do - they’re going to publicly say they support Specter, but will let him twist in the wind against any Dem challengers. Fact: Specter adds nothing to the Democrat party because of his age, the fact that he cannot be trusted (he just voted against Obama’s budget and may not vote for card-check), and now he’s a conservative Democrat. That’s a no-no for Dems; unlike Republicans, Democrats don’t tolerate moderates or reaching across the aisle. Mark my words - there will be a Dem primary challenge, and national Dems will quietly encourage PA Dems to vote for Sestak or whoever challenges Specter. Specter is complete toast, I mean if I was him I’d just flat-out quit because he has no chance of winning in 2010.

Well, they want his vote for the next year or two, but then they can afford to throw him away, the way they did with Jumping Jim Jeffords.

Every car in Vermont seemed to have a bumper sticker praising Jeffords for switching parties. They loved it. But when election time came around again, he was out on his ear.

Don’t you think he would have been smart to poll PA as a dem before he made his decision?? maybe he did, but if he didn’t and he still gets beat in the primary as a Dem, I think justice will finally prevail...

Absolutely! How sweet it would be for this P.O.S. to end up with no government gig at all. He's not at all assured of the seat.

TERM LIMITS!

I think Toomey might have a chance against Specter in general. Toomey could make the case that Specter has been in the Senate too long. Against a generic Rat like Sestak, Toomey’s odds are not good.

Sestak actually could pose a problem for Specter...he represents Delaware County, part of the Philly burbs, so he has name recognition in the Philly area. Of course, Specter could still win the primary in places like Erie, Pittsburgh, Scranton, etc. He’s generally done well there in general elections anyway, probably because of the pork he brings.

Plus we could get a crack at taking Sestak’s seat. It used to be Curt Weldon’s, before Sestak beat him.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Now wouldn't that be ironic if after all his Benedict Arnold crap, the DEMONRATS turned around and ran a popular dem against him in the primary...Good for Benedict Spector, would love to see him lose...
