After the former presidential hopeful confessed his betrayal, Elizabeth Edwards writes in her new book, "I cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up."
Elizabeth, 59, who is terminally ill with cancer, speaks about her husband's infidelity in her new memoir, "Resilience,".
Despite feeling deeply deceived, Elizabeth Edwards nonetheless publicly stood by her husband's side, lending his candidacy the aura of a warm, loving family life.
But she had actually wanted him to quit the race to protect the family. Edwards admitted the hanky-panky to her days after declaring his candidacy in 2006 - almost a year before the National Enquirer reported it.
She was afraid of the destructive questions Edwards' affair with videographer Rielle Hunter would raise.
"He should not have run," she says.
Hunter initially seduced Edwards using a worn come-on line, Elizabeth writes:
"You are so hot," Hunter told him outside a swank New York hotel. The campaign ultimately paid Hunter $114,000 to produce a batch of short films on his candidacy.
She lashes out at Hunter, now 45, whose name she never actually uses in the book, as a parasitic groupie who invaded the Edwardses' life.
Her own life may be tragic, she concludes, but Hunter's is "pathetic."
Even when Edwards confessed to his wife, he lied, claiming he had slipped up just once, Elizabeth writes. His original version of the story "left most of the truth out," she writes.
While Elizabeth still hasn't fully come to terms with her man's roaming, the memoir is laced with a powerful dose of forgiveness.
"I lie in bed, circles under my eyes, my sparse hair sticking in too many directions, and he looks at me as if I am the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. It matters," she writes.

He’s a lawyer, politician, and loves the enviroment, but lives in a 20,000 sq ft home. She’s for profit writer. I bet she knew about it the whole time.

Forgivenss which is idiocy is not forgiveness. One can only forgive the repentant, and he was not.
Similarly every marriage which has innfidelity is not specifically the solitary fault of only one spouse. Both have causal effect.
But She is dying, and so we must forgive her need to be loved by her betrayer.
Edwards should have been locked out of the house and she should have moved to prepare to die right, without any delusions. As it is now she will pass, burdened with the horror of having created a world which will make "feel good" a termendous impediment to the gateways of heaven.
I feel sorry for her, but do not condone her foolishness.

Yep, Mrs. Edwards knew John was fooling around with a skank and still stood by her man as he ran for president.
And remember that had he not been in the race, Mrs. Clinton would have beaten obamma lamma ding dong.

I got news for you. A woman with cancer out of the barn and killing her slowlly or quickly doesn’t have the mindset to do what you say.

There is a reason adultery is one of the big ten.
Betrayal, dishonesty, cold heartedness; it is so devastating to love, it is unbelievably damaging on so many levels to a long string of intertwined people.
Without love, human life is like the walking dead. Intellegence lacks wisdom, empathy and compassion without love. Love and all that comes with it is the most important aspect of human life; it is what separates humans from animals.
After Helms, NC has gone on the dark side to stay, it seems.
A good point, but the American people always seem to go for the lowest common denominator, something that they could never quite figure out in math class.
