Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!

You are very clear and there is nothing that I do not agree with. We had nothing to chose from or win with in the last election. Our choice was between horrible and evil.
I believe that there is a change coming. I am not exactly sure how it will come about but there is a real “Change” on the way.
We can and should learn from each other and then stand united for a constitutional government.

Has FR become a LIBERAL forum where a difference of opinion in not tolerated? I don't want to be welcomed by YOU.

The title to this posted thread is also incorrect.

The CORRECT title for this article is

Romney working to reshape GOP’s image

NOT what was posted which is this:

Myth Romney working to reshape GOP’s image into socialism [talks about health insurance]

The article was NOT at all about health insurance nor changing the GOP image into “socialism”. That's a flat out lie. It is also AGAINST THE RULES at FR to POST INCORRECT TITLES.

If you think for one moment I will be intimidated by someone like you, you are mistaken. Perhaps YOU should go on a liberal forum where dissension is not permitted.

I refer to this thread and ASKED you to stop e-mailing me in private. AGAIN, stop e-mailing me this silly attempt at intimidation.

I refer to this thread where we disagree:

Myth Romney working to reshape GOP’s image into socialism [talks about health insurance]

My, how HATRED drives people.

People can’t even read straight!

Correct title:

Romney working to reshape GOP’s image

...

“Listening to people can make a difference. We’ve got ideas on how we can help people get health insurance, how we can improve our schools, how we can make our economy strong today as well as down the road, how we can REFORM entitlements — these are the people of America that have these ideas,” Romney said. “We want to share these ideas with one another, and make sure that we’re laying out a vision and a plan for America that makes our lives and the lives of our kids better.”

...

“America is great because of the American people, and the skill and ingenuity and entrepreneurship of America. That’s what we happen to believe,” Romney said of himself, Congressman Eric Cantor and former governor Jeb Bush.

“I happen to think right now with regards to our economy, that we’re risking doing the very thing to our economy that government did to our housing market. And that is borrow so much money that you create a bubble that ultimately collapses.”

...

http://www.necn.com/Boston/Politics/2009/05/02/Romney-working-to-reshape/1241296222.html

I have NO PROBLEM with what Mitt said.

Mitt is NO SOCIALIST.

TAdams8591 stop e-mailing me in private. Keep your bitterness to yourself. It’s too bad we don’t have Mitt as our President. He would straighten out the economy.

Knock it off TAdams8591, before YOU are asked to leave.

In a heartbeat, I'd vote for Mitt over McPain or Hucklebee over Obama. I wouldn't mind seeing Mitt, Palin or Jindal team up in some form for the next election. Notice how I don't have to use foul language to express myself either.

Well said Jim!!

I’m in my 11th year at FreeRepublic and I’ve seen a lot of things posted here that were motivating, but this one tops them all. Thanks for saying what needs to be said, and let’s hope that attitude extends to other places as well...

I don't speak of Ambassador Keyes as a candidate anymore -- I believe the party tainted him by asking him to run both times (in Maryland and in the later years, in Illinois -- against Obama) and abandonong him.

This does not mean I want him to run for president and be reviled and humiliated -- right now he is still chasing that elusive birth certificate of Obama's -- but I hope we are ready to let him speak in public for us, if possible ... there is no one more eloquent or more convincing of explaining and convincing others of our causes of the right -- from the issues on the fiscal side as well as on social issues.

I am speaking of his being an honorable member of the "tea party" coalition, which has so many who do support Jim's dreaam ...

I truly am hoping for the magic of Sarah Palin ... the class of Governor Jindal or the strong voice of Congressman Duncan Hunter -- I'm talking about another person of great conviction who has the power and eloquence to define our goals.

But of course he is not running again is he?

When he was running he was supported here. He even had an FR inaugural ball. Apparently this was not a website for conservatives back then.

Support a True Conservative ™ and we don't have to lose to Obama. Support an abortionist, big government socialist like Romney and you deserve what you get.

This site will continue supporting the TEA Party Rebellion!!

“It’s called a cop-out in these parts.”

Call it what you will but sorry there weren’t many othr choices.

Cop out? How many on FR held their noses when they voted for McCain? How many vomited in their mouth when they voted for McCain? I bet 95% of the people that post on FR ‘Copped-Out’ then.

Hence the discussion now. We don’t want to be required to make that choice again. We want to vote for someone.

If I want to vote for someone I agree with 100% there is only one person. Myself. I would write in my own name every election. That would be silly and stupid.

I would not have voted for McCain without Palin. If we all would have not copped out and voter for McCain, Palin would have gotten about 25% of the vote.

What do you think her chances would have been then? Only an idiot thinks that would have helped her chances in 2012. The vote for McCain in 2008 was really a vote for Palin, or someone like her, in 2012.

I remember what seemed like 3/4 the posters here whining about McCain and how it was a shame we didn't nominate "real conservative" Mitt Romney. ******************

I don't remember that.

It wasn't 3/4 the posters but 3/4 the total posts! Posted by the paid Romney operatives.

Jim, when you say you don’t support these RINOs, does that mean you are willing to vote third party or stay home? Or do you hold your nose and vote RINO after all just because the Democrat is 2% worse?
