Waiting for Goboe ping.
Better not be too many bugs in this machine or Boeing may have a few problems.
Ha! Next you'll be saying GM has problems.
Oh awesome!
Another plane with passenger seating designed around a 5’0” 110 lb woman.
Well, it’s McCain that hates Boeing, and Washington State IS a union and Dem stronghold. . .and Boeing IS headquartered in Chicago. . . .
I think others are not letting that happen. The last talk was of some splitting of the project but that was shot down.
Juan McCain?
If I remember correctly, it was the same old “maverick” McCain who bone headedly got Boeing stripped of the original contract award, then turned round and employed Airbus lobbyists in his presidential campaign. Now his stupid daughter is out trying to screw Republicans too. Is the entire McCain family full of evil doers?
I'd guess it will be but there could be some problems to resolve. We'll see.
Beware any manufacturing company that locates the HQ away from the plants.
It's a sign that they want disconnect from the messy realities of manufacturing, and want to focus only on the glamour of money and marketing. Any time I've seen a company do that, they get rapidly FUBAR.
Mind you, you might need to move the plant, too, thanks to greedy/corrupt state/local governments, or unruly labor. But you have to stay attuned every day to the ground floor of your operations.
I guess you're not counting on seats as pictured in post #11.
Boeing was the one who screwed the pooch on that one: Ex-Boeing CFO pleads guilty in tanker deal scandal
Mike Sears, Boeing CFO, admitted his guilt, and got a 4 month prison term for his role.
That is the first class section. Cattle car seating is behind those.
Boeing does not choose the size and spacing of the seats in it's aircraft, the airlines do. Boeing simply delivers what the airlines specify.
Yeah, my seat. ;-)
Boeing has plants across the USA, not only in Seattle anymore. One reason for moving headquarters might have been to give the appearance (only) that they recognize the rest of the company (Meaning MacDac for the most part). They were also having issues with Washington state and local governments, unions, etc.
As to the tanker;
Given the Great OH's international dreams I think Airbus has an edge in DC. And, I think the bias against Boeing goes beyond McPain to include the Air Force in general. They are probably still smarting from being told they screwed up the earlier procurement(s) - so there might not be much of a stir if a new RFP is slanted toward the Euros.
