Hutchison joins GOP rebranding effort
Dallas Morning News ^ | 5/1/09 | Laura Isensee

This week GOP leaders in Congress, including Texas' Sen. John Cornyn, launched a rebuilding effort this week, called the National Council for a New America. It's supposed be a grassroots conversation with citizens, including non-Republicans. Texas' senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison joined the effort Friday. "We as Republicans need to show the nation that we have better alternatives to Democratic proposals, and that we understand the very real challenges families are facing during these tough economic times," Hutchison said in a statement. Her joining also reaffirms her GOP credentials.

ALL the RINO's are circling their wagons.

What we need is for the traditional values/Conservative principles to be re-adopted and to hell with trying to reason with the brain-dead and dependency crowds....

When taxes can't keep up with the promises The Messiah has made to them, and their handouts stop, they will get the message......

We already have one crew of arrogant politicians giving us a “New America” and determined to finish the destruction of the Constitution.

We don't need another.

We do need people who want to restore America and govern by the Constitution; people who seek office to serve the country instead of ruling us like Banana Republic dictators.

If these are the GOP leaders, the party is already dead. If so, I hope we see a truly Constitution respecting coalition of Palin-Republicans, Ron Paul-Libertarians and Glenn Beck-912ers.

I am ready for a new way. Since a third party will not work I say we form a new wing to the Republican party called the Tea Party wing. The people that would run for office using this banner would have to be true to the Constitution and govern like the Founders would govern.

The current bunch of Republicans in Washington need to GO!

don’t fault them for trying to get something going. We need a lot of movement - partial conservative or full conservative.

Remember the story of horses facing danger circle up facing inward and kick out at the wolves.

Jackasses when faced with danger, circle up facing the enemy and kick each other.

which are we to be??

"All the RINO's are circling their wagons."

You said in seven words what this conclave is all about.

This is precisely what they're doing....it's a preemptive move, no doubt about it.

Now, where's the conservative legislators who should be doing the same thing?

I'm already sorry I axed the question.

Same old country club garbage. Tehy are going to propose ideas that maybe good ideas. But when they actually take power they are just sit there with their thumbs up their asses and do absolutely nothing except lowering their country club taxes. They don't really believe in anything. It this broad that helped sabotage the fence. I don’t want her and I don't believe anything that she says.

I’ve come to this conclusion, too. I was appalled when conservatives were bailing on the GOP last year as it was not the time, given that we were in an electoral battle against a marxist. But there’s nothing else to lose. Now is the time.

Polls show her leading Perry some 2-2 in the March 2010 primary. Perry has angered nearly as many as GWB did. Democrats could have a field day in TX in 2010, but maybe not.

I’m a conservative, would vote for Palin first, but in any case want to deny O his “second term” he’s already mentioned. It’s a case of here we go again - by 2012, everyone’s going to be branded a RINO by people on FR, even those that don’t deserve that word.

Worth observing ~ that pizza joint is on a major commuter route used by Leftwingtard analysts to get to work at the Brookings Institute.

I suppose they might stop by there for pizza and beer on their way home in the evenings.

An amazing thing is that so terribly many of the Brookings crowd just hate to live in DC where so terribly many Brookings institute pipedreams have been implemented. Instead, they live out in Northern Virginia (albeit predominantly in North Arlington).

When Republicans pick locations in Arlington to have little meetings like this that means they are TOTALLY OUT OF CONTACT.

I marked up the last two "survey-slash-request-for-donation" I got from GOP, mainly a bunch of "Why hasn't the GOP already been taking this position!" and "Why aren't the borders already secure?" questions rather than their multiple-choice answers. I do think they read'em because I haven't gotten any more since then.

Why not just take back the Republican party? Sitting around waiting for someone else to do something or the GOP leadership to wake up isn’t going to accomplish anything but ensure the Democrats are forever in power.
