A Louisiana driver has been stopped and detained for having a "Don't Tread on Me" bumper sticker on his vehicle and warned by a police officer about the "subversive" message it sent, according to the driver's relative.
The situation developed in the small town of Ball, La., where a receptionist at the police department told WND she knew nothing about the traffic stop, during which the "suspect" was investigated for "extremist" activities, the relative said.

I don’t like bumper stickers on my vehicles, but if I were going to have one, that’s exactly what it would read.

Incredible. The loony left have taken over.
Now American patriotic history is dangerous and subversive.

I am not sorry, but when the current government people believe one of the slogans our Founding Fathers in the colonies adopted during the period of the Revolutionary War, we are all in great danger.

The last paragraph of the article (don’t want to get in trouble- copyrights?) - We are subversives for seeking information that the “mass media products & outlets” won’t publish?
WHEN the mass media starts acting with some integrity and does some REAL investigative reporting, maybe i’ll look at them again. No guarantees.

I'm familiar with Ball. I had friends who wouldn't drive through Ball because the cops harrassed them to much. I was followed for 5 miles once and then stopped and given a sobriety test (I'm a teetotaller) simply for driving through town too late.
A relative actually filed an harassment suit against the ball police.
They've had trouble before. They had a cop they had to fire because he was stopping attractive girls. He went down the road and got a job in Pineville.
