Nineteen new qualified armed posse volunteers will graduate today, Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 at 6:30PM from the Sheriff’s Training Academy, 2627 South 35 Avenue. Arpaio says he plans to step up his recruiting methods to attract more men and women to join his volunteer armed posse through more public outreach.
“The public has a desire to help local law enforcement when times are tough. I am banking on their generosity of time and energy to help my deputies keep our communities safe,” Arpaio says.
Arpaio is seeking primarily those who wish to be trained and qualified to carry and use a weapon. Currently there are about 300 qualified armed posse members in a volunteer force now numbering nearly 2,600 men and women, the largest volunteer posse in the nation.

If there is ever an opening in the DFW area for a Sheriff I hope that you will consider a relocation to the Great State of Texas.
A true expression of leadership lies with the actions you do, not the words you read off a teleprompter.
I just love this. And this is the way we counter this administration; just take charge at the lower levels, stay independent from them as best you can, and be quite ready to blast back at them should they raise a protest. Long live Sheriff Joe, an American hero.

I hate to break it to everyone, but the Democrats have painted a big bull’s eye on Sheriff Joe. He has been able to weather the assaults for years, but now the Feds are going after him.
If they can find a single paper clip missing, he’s toast.

I think Joe will do just fine.
He seems to thrive on publicity, he’s certainly been on nationwide TV enough for a local sheriff- and the people of his urban jurisdiction keep voting him in.
The Obama administration has other fish to fry, I don’t think they have much of an appetite for someone who is quite popular and at 77, probably has at most 10 years left.

I hope he has picked and trained a successor by now. If so, the good sheriff should let him get some face time (if he hasn’t I’m not local.) I would hate for his office to descend to a bickering political fight should he take ill.
Today I thought of something that may wake up “Local” Government, I am going to propose it to my fellow VFW and American Legion brothers and sisters.
It may not be the proper way to do this but it is an idea and a way to get folks involved in something more than writing, calling etc...
I want to have some “Judge” time at the local City Hall, I want to gather fellow Veterans in front of a Judge and we will all re-swear our Oath of Allegiance to the USA just like we did when we were promoted or re-enlisted and make a Statement to LEO, City Government, County Government, State Government and DHS... the same oath that the buffoons in power right now had to take, I would invite local News and hopefully get some media involvement.
In my mind I think the most Charismatic or best speaker or ? member of our group should ask any others that are in attendance if they would take the same oath and if they would not “why not?”
Right now it is an Idea and I haven’t gathered any feedback
