WASHINGTON – A White House document says EPA regulation of the gases blamed for global warming will have serious economic consequences throughout the U.S. economy.

The document is a compilation of opinions from numerous federal agencies about the EPA's finding that greenhouse gases are a danger to public health. It was released Tuesday by Republican senators.

The nine-page document says that if the EPA proceeds with the regulation of heat-trapping gases, factories, small businesses and institutions would be subject to costly regulation.

The document also says the EPA failed to explain adequately how it determined that greenhouse gases endanger human health and welfare.

You don't say....

A "White House document" suggests that global warming malarkey could ruin the economy? This White House?

If such a document came from this administration, surely it is regarded as more of a celebratory gesture than a warning.

Oh dear, I guess Barry is already having to come to grips with the consequences of imposing overly obvious economic suicide in the middle of a recession.

No problem, I don’t think he will have any difficulty ignoring Supreme Court diktat.

Subject to costly regulation? Try “cease operations.”

"But I thought the science was settled...?"

Nah, it's a consensus of scientists. And a consensus is always right. Just ask Galileo.

Back when CO2 was declared a regulated pollutant, I said here that this was a good development. Because the EPA rules require that the agency prove that a material is hazardous before it can be regulated. This is the process that was abrogated back when Clinton declared second hand smoke to be a Class A Carcinogen.

This could finally be the thing that results in a rigorous, real examination of all this Global Warming nonsense. If so, it will be a very welcome development.

CO2 is like the Homeless. It only exists if there is a Republican in the White House.

I wonder if the CIA is part of this document? Have Obama and Co. overstepped? How do leaks sound?

Agreed, but I don't trust that the science “proving” it will be more rigorous than the one proving DDT’s environmental damage.

Have you been to the EPA website? They still celebrate Rachel Carson as the inspiration for the Agency.
