"Global warming conjures images of rising seas that threaten coastal areas" because of media outlets such as the Times. Now they are saying the opposite.

The land is ascending so fast that the rising seas cannot keep pace.

Wow, that must be really fast. Except for the fact that the seas aren't rising at all.

Alaska has really mushy land, I guess. How do you build a golf course on that kind of stuff?

As the glaciers here melt, the land is rising, causing the sea to retreat.

That is unacceptable. This will result in less undersea area for sea urchins to occupy. We can fix this if we all send money to algore.

The geology is complex, but it boils down to this: Relieved of billions of tons of glacial weight, the land has risen much as a cushion regains its shape after someone gets up from a couch.

This is utterly laughable.

I can hear it now.....

“This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”

Why is the land rising in Finland, on the Bothnian coast???? No glaciers anywhere near. Rising and falling land forms are normal, but the Glowarmers want to attribute everything to global warming.

Greenland and a few other places have experienced similar effects from widespread glacial melting that began more than 200 years ago, geologists say

Just LOOK at what that Napoleon started!!!

Circa 50 years ago, in grade school geography, we were taught that the western North American coastline was an ‘emerging or rising coast’, being tectonically lifted.

Yes, cliffs collapsed and fell to the beach in places, but overall, the coastline was rising.

Conversely, we were also taught that the East Coast was slowly subsiding/submerging.

The same has been slowly happening in the Great Lakes region over the last 10,000 years since the end of the last Ice Age.

Sea level at Juneau Alaska has fallen by 203 feet in the last 11,000 years. It is post-glacial rebound from the last ice age.

So, with Global Warming, it's not that the Sky is FallingTM.

It's that the Ground is Rising!

Cheers!
