Does anyone else think Kris Allen, who was very good won American Idol over Adam Lambert who was great because Red Staters siad "No!" to Lmabert for reasons other than talent? Lambert is the best ever on the show, but I think he was denied because Red State America has had "enough." I hope I'm wrong, just thinking out loud.
Who gives a crap? The gay guy was in the bottom three a couple of times. He might have talent but he wasn’t that popular.
I watched a grand total of 10 minutes this year. I used to watch this but it just doesn’t occur to me to watch it this year.
shocked at the outcome. Adam was great. Several others were really good, including Kris. I thought Adam for sure. I wonder if the media creation of red state/blue state didn’t end up bringing him down. I never would have considered it before it was brought up. Like most people here, I probably evaluate based on talent, performance, etc.
Adam was a tremendous performer, regardless of what he does on the weekends. It may not be all bad for him to lose. Now the Idol producers don’t ‘own’ him for his first album. He can do what he wants with it.
Adam was theatrical........nice voice and stage presence, but he fails the all-round appeal. do women really want to hear him sing love songs? no. he would do well in the theater I suspect.
If Adam hadn’t screeched his way through the final, he might have won. Kris outperformed him. What’s more, Adam’s rendition of Kara’s song was off key! I had to put my fingers in my earholes.
You mean the voting is over? The show is still an half hour from starting on the pacific coast.
I think the right man won. The tide started turning against Adam after the Carrie Prejean fiasco, which I think had a lot to do with Adam loosing. He was way to theatrical, Kris’s style was more marketable and it didn’t help to have Adam declared the winner practically from the beginning. I think Kris is great. He’s no David Cook, but he’s the next best thing. I’m happy Kris won.
I thought their talent was pretty close, although Allen played the guitar and piano. I thought it could go either waay based on talent. Lambert was a little smug at times and claimed he was “born to do this”; Alleen was pretty humble throughout. Maybe the humble thing sold better to the people. Maybe young girls — who account for a lot of the voting — were more attracted to Allen, who is a bit more homespun and cute, and apparently heterosexual.

Why does everything have to be so political or plitically correct I find it insulting and this is what the media does all the time If Kris won that is great if Adam one that is great as well but do not over think this because the media alludes to the Red state blue state crap. I also think it takes away from the winner
I liked seeing KISS, Rod Stewart, et al. on stage performing live. Haven't had a decent live variety show like that in decades. (Rod Stewart's voice is pretty shot, though. But, as with Tony Bennett, I still enjoy his singing.)

Just because you have a question and have to rush to post a vanity over it you didn’t bother to think about those of us that watched this show from the beginning who now have the suspense taken out of the ending.
Kris was solid. that’s for sure. Adam is talented, but he will do better without such control as they seem to exert on the winner. Adam will have a nice career.
Idol voters tend to go for the clean cut boy/girl next door type. Adam is a superstar. The stuff he did tonight with Kiss and Queen is right where he needs to be. I think Adam can bring back rock. He has one of the great rock voices of all time.
Like most things, it’s probably fixed anyway.
Adam and his over applied cover girl make-up creeped me out . There I have said it.
Actually I think it may be OK afdter all ... Main stream America is tell Hollyweird ... it;s American Idol ... not American Homo
