Scary for sure. We lost an AWAC and 24 Airmen from Elmendorf in Sept 95 due to a flock of geese. Elmendorf is right here in Anchorage. The whole city saw the black smoke.

I’m sure many on the plane have been here since then.

I came through Elmendorf AFB when I was medevaced out of 'Nam in 1969. Unfortunately it was only a two-hour layover.

Thank you!

It has been an almost perfect day (the A/C died in the Jeep this morning ~ ick!). I have received birthday wishes from all my friends and family. I got am email from a friend who has been incognito for a few months, and even heard from my FIL who I have not spoken to is a few years. And BONUS - my BD meal was hot dogs & chili cheese fries from James Coney Island (which Allegra & I have deemed health food).

Hot dogs & chili cheese fries are health food especially when washed down with Milwaukee Holy Water. 8^)
