Couple Ordered to Stop Holding Bible Study at Home Without Permit
Fox News ^ | May 28, 2009 | Fox News

Pastor David Jones and his wife Mary have been told that they cannot invite friends to their San Diego, Calif. home for a Bible study — unless they are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to San Diego County.

"On Good Friday we had an employee from San Diego County come to our house, and inform us that the Bible study that we were having was a religious assembly, and in violation of the code in the county." David Jones told FOX News.

"We told them this is not really a religious assembly — this is just a Bible study with friends. We have a meal, we pray, that was all," Jones said.

A few days later, the couple received a written warning that cited "unlawful use of land," ordering them to either "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit," the couple's attorney Dean Broyles told San Diego news station 10News.

But the major use permit could cost the Jones' thousands of dollars just to have a few friends over.

In the pre-Obama America, this would be a violation of the First Amendment. This is what happens when you invite the Communists in to run your government. A man and his friends can’t read the Holy Bible and pray IN THEIR OWN HOME? When the government requires you to have a “permit” to pray in your home, we are in deep trouble.

FYI: This already has been posted. Anyway, definitely follow the FOXNews link, where you will find follow-up links and comments from the county officials plus photos of the couple’s house/driveway. The county maintains the extra cars parked on the road may block fire and emergency vehicles. Potential hazard or Christian persecution? You decide.

We WON’T see the ACLU defend this one! Now if the assembly was The Communist Pedophiles Against the Grand Old Flag The ACLU would be all over it!

If it was a black pastor screaming about whitey then all would be forgiven. Or, maybe a Muslim prayer group. Wouldn’t want to offend them either.

Do it anyway. They cannot stop you from worshiping or assembly. Pretty simple constitutional case in my opinion.

These people will end up owning half of the county.

But Black Panthers swinging billy clubs at a polling location in Philadelphia doesn't rise to the level of governmental action...... Only in Obama’s America.

If there were traffic violations, or problems with the parking, then by all means deal with it.

If they were asking about prayer or worship going on in the home, that is another thing.

“How about, oh,say, 100 million dollars for 1st amendment violations?”

Okay, so long as the domestic enemies of the Constitution responsible for this outrage go to jail for a looooooong time.

Sorry for the repost. I actually did do a title search with the word “couple”. None of the articles came up. They still don’t.

However, I have been able to find them now with any of the other words from the title. Odd... I guess I should have looked harder. Sorry again.

“Potential hazard or Christian persecution?”

If it had been barbecue and beer, the complaint never would have been filed, and Big Brother never would have demanded a permit.

You decide.

They were asked exactly that, even how they prayed! If the neighbors have a problem with the parking, car pool and have less cas at the house. Meet up at the church, that’s all. They cannot stop the prayer group.

You check my street if you want to see cars. And the whole neighborhood is the same way.
