George Tiller benefited from the actions of the prolifers who REFUSED to compromise!

I get it, we only need to accept some killing, then everything will be ok.

I think the world went down that path just before WW II.

Reichstag Fire.

Exactly. Whoever did it could have been a "Manchurian candidate", somehow provoked or programmed to do this at this time when the wicked demonstrate such power to use this for the detriment of the prolife movement.

I bet you are sad that you can’t blame the Mormon church for this one, huh?

So this is the mormon attitude, or did you think you were at DU?

“Sometimes I think its more like reading (or re-reading) the scriptures too much.”

More often it is misinterpreting or ignoring the Scriptures.

“Do you support war for a just cause? Do you support the death penalty for Tiller the Killer’s killer? Are you pro life? You are engaging in leftist “logic.””

You’re confused. War and the death penalty are legal and moral when properly used.

Abortion is never moral.

Equating them as the same is dishonest.

Hmm...well ok, I can see the logic. Still sounds a bit like a “band aid” solution to me though (to use a medical metaphor).

I’m just saying prolife is prolife unborn babies or those that kill unborn babies.

We have a justice system and we elect judges and we elect people that appoint judges.

We created the justice system via elections that allowed people like Tiller to go on with thier evil deeds.

And that same justice system will take care of the person that killed Tiller.

Elections have consequences and we are paying for that when we let baby abortors kill at will.

But we should never take a life just because of what we believe about abortionists.

Father God is just and he will avenge and its not our place.

You may not like my logic but it stems from Gods Divne Word and my place in the United States of America.

No, its using the incremental approach. Banning abortion is the home run. Whats wrong with getting to first base? At least you save some lives.

Sure, but are we really limited to just one tactic? Despite heavy govt funding abortion mills run on tight budgets. By increasing the cost of ‘business’ we can open another front in the battle and reduce the number of deaths.

I just want to point out that many of the view points here give a lot of ammunition to the “other side”. You have some people celebrating a murder. Some people are passing judgement on a man. Several comments are made talking about a second revolution. A revolution? really? I find it really interesting that instead of talking about removing the need for abortions, several people here find removing the abortionist and condemning the mothers to be the appropriate response. While I do not support the majority of your viewpoints, I hope that you all take some time and resources to support local efforts which support children given up for adoption and mothers who lack support. If we can remove the reasons for having an abortion, we can move past this debate for the better. At the very least, you may want to consider rereading some of the posts on this thread and think about how all of this sounds to people outside this thread.

And when the wicked know the evil of their ways and refuse to turn away from it?

David killed many people (besides Goliath) and was blessed by God.

Decent people need to leave lots of decent remarks on these youtubes and blogs. You can be sure that the Obama crowd is plastering these with anti life propaganda to make it look like their destructive opinions are the norm.

That’s right. This is why I’m not so sure about buying up abortion clinic buildings and evicting them. Sure it disrupts their operations a bit but it doesnt address the fundamental reasons why people go and have abortions.

It’s a classic capitalist situation. There is a demand, and the abortion clinic is satisfying that demand. If we close down the clinic, but the demand still exists, then someone else will satisfy that demand. It happens in every other free market situation. Closing down an abortion clinic and seeing “backstreet” abortions go through the roof (with all the attendent medical trauma that goes along with it) is no victory for the pro-life cause.

Everyone concentrates on the nasty abortion clinics, and ok, they ARE culpable. But the real crime is the demand in society. That selfish idea that an unwanted pregnancy is an inconvenience to be “fixed”. The theory that the sanctity of Human life is trumped by “a right to choose”. THOSE are the evils we have to fight.

No, you are not allowed to be pro-choice on killing abortionists any more than mothers are allowed, morally, to be prochoice on killing their babies—but for different reasons. The baby is innocent. “Nuff said.

Tiller was guilty—some of his abortions are legal (but violate natural law) under our unjust abortion laws. Other things he seems to have done seem to have been illegal. But justified/moral punishment even for the guilty must be carried out after legitimate legal proceedings and by legitimate authority.

Sorry, we don’t get to pick and choose when to take the law into our own hands. This is a blanket principle. In a home invasion or in various other sorts of emergency settings, we do have the choice of self-defense but even then as a last resort).

Since you say you don’t justify this killing, we apparently agree. When I defend my condemnation of the killing by appeal to law and order, I do so by appeal to principle and by applying reasoning about the circumstances of this case to the principles, not by mindless “blanket case” argumentation. So I really don’t know what your beef with me is—if you indeed are not justifying the Tiller shooting.

I just understand how it could happen in today’s climate.

No pro-life person kills another human being except in a just war. Whoever he is who did it, he's NOT pro-life. Pro-life people do not think it's okay to do what he did. If you think you are pro-life, and you "understand" what he did, you are kidding yourself about being pro-life.

Sorry friend, but on this one, you simply do not know what you are talking about.

There simply are not ENOUGH late term abortions of KANSAS citizens to keep Tiller in business.

Tiller benefited because OUR LAWS, in Kansas, are the MOST LIBERAL in the entire United States!

This is true because prolife “purists” fight every attempt to pass laws as strict as those in New York or Massachusetts!

Tiller was made possible, and RICH, due to prolifers fighting prolifers!

Part of what you say is correct, outright prohibitions would be struck down by the courts -—

But this is NO excuse for fighting every restriction on abortion that we tried to do!

I support the National Right to Life Committee.

ALL and Operation Rescue, despite their good intentions, have often fought the NRLC and brought our legislative initiatives to a stand still!

Want proof?

Tiller was recently PROSECUTED for violating Kansas abortion law.

When prolife Democrat Gov. Finney signed that bill into law, Operation Rescue, and ALL, called Finney a “traitor” -—

Sorry, but NRLC is FAR more competent on the legislative front.

I listen to OR when it comes to street protest, I listen to NRLC when it comes to legislation!~
