Why? Because if you start “acting on God’s behalf” in regard to justice, you are taking upon yourself what rightly belongs to the government - not self-proclaimed prophets who claim “God told me to do this”.
God is perfectly able to mete out justice on His own. But, don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying we should stand by and not defend ourselves. I’m not a pacifist. However, dealing out justice on our own volition, without the authority of our elected govenment, is just plain murder. I do not believe that God condones that.
Please do not believe I’m against those who tried to kill Hitler - that was a time of war and Hitler was violating both the laws of God and man. I do not see these acts as one and the same.
The example of the militia defending their right to keep and bear arms - if that is true and all there is to the story, then I would say they are justified in resisting because the government was violating the Law of the Land, i.e. the Constitution.
The guy who murdered Tiller was acting in his own accord - not God’s. God always told His prophets and His people what He was going to do way ahead of time - so that when it happened - you knew it was God. People who go around acting in God’s name - we don’t know if God spoke to them. Anyone could say this. I just do not believe that kind of activity matches the character of integrity of our God.
As long as we still have the right to vote and change our leaders and laws, plus the freedom to discuss and argue our position, then I do not believe we have the moral right to take the law into our own hands. Going down that road is a very, very, serious and scary thing for our country and our society.
Maybe not. The left in general seems to be a bit reluctant to make a martyr out of a man that killed fully-formed infants.
If you believe what Tiller was doing was murder, though, why wouldn't you be happy that Tiller no longer has a chance to continue committing infanticide?
I am not at that stage...but I know this, the absolute depravity of what this man fought in his way, is not, after so much blood has been shed, something that necessrily will end "civilly".
As I have stated, I pray we can make that happen and win in the court of public opinion and the ballot box. And I work to that end...but part of that, IMHO, now has to be stating plainly the direct and unvarnished truth of this bloody genocide.
But, every day we are not successful, another 3,300+ babies are gruesoomely torn apart. That is the fact of the matter.
Our foreefthers hoped for a peaceful end to slavery, the fundmental moral issue of their day...and worked hard for it. But, tragically, it did not end thatway.
But, apparently none of the women who have come to regret allowing Tiller to kill their babies.
You diminish the life of the unborn when you don't treat those that commit mass murder in the womb with the same disdain as those that commit mass murder outside of it, especially when those being killed were fully-formed and the equivalent of infants.
I figured it would be corny but not that bad.
No, Tillers murderer was a nut job.
Tiller was a MONSTER because he enjoyed killing babies and PROFITED from the death of innocents. He got off on the killing and made a bundle at the same time.
