That said, there’s more troubling news this morning. I’m horrified by credible reports that in his June 4th speech in Cairo, President Obama will say it is time to divide Jerusalem and make the holy city the capital of a Palestinian state.
No, Mr. President, it is not
Jerusalem is and should be the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Dividing Jerusalem will not make peace. Rather, it would send a message to every Radical Islamic jihadist around the world that Israel is weak, that the Jews won’t even defend the sovereignty of their own capital, that there is “blood in the water,” and that it is time to strike Israel and wipe her off the map. Dividing Jerusalem would trigger an apocalyptic war in the Middle East the likes of which the region has never seen.
I am committed to doing everything I possibly can to educate people — and particularly U.S. and Canadian evangelical Christians — to the threats facing Israel and the West due to Radical Islam, and to the biblical responsibility we have to show unconditional love and unwavering support to Israel and the Jewish people. We’ll use radio, TV, the internet, emails and other media to get the word out. But we can’t do it alone. We want and need your help.
One idea: let’s build an alliance of one million true friends of Israel — people who love Israel, are committed to blessing her in real and practical ways, are absolutely opposed to dividing Jerusalem, and will pray faithfully for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of all the people of the epicenter.

Quite plausible.
I’m not particularly dogmatic about a lot of END TIMES sequence stuff.
I’ve never found anyone I felt was 100% accurate on timing or sequencing.
I feel God has some mystery in it for HIS purposes . . . and that He will make it clear as He chooses . . . typically at the last minute or after the fact or some such.
The key issues of SALVATION VIA CHRIST’S BLOOD; HE CAME IN THE FLESH; HE IS COMING AGAIN FOR HIS OWN ETC. I’m insistent on.
Lots of other stuff is inconsequential to Salvation but something Believers ought to be read up on so that they can at least recognize that Scripture is being fulfilled before our eyes and therefore other such Scriptures are going to be fulfilled in relatively short order.

I’m a rebel, there’s no doubt about that. I’ve always staked out my own path, but the path I took toward officially declaring my allegiance to “the other side” was one that sent shockwaves across the communication channels of my family (and some old friends).
My story isn’t unlike that of most “recovered” liberals and Democrats. Even Ronald Reagan once voted with the Party of Jefferson. He once said, “I didn’t leave the Democrat party; it left me.” I had very much the same feeling prior to moving to the other side.
There was a “mea culpa” by a recently reformed liberal that was posted on FR a week or so ago. You may have seen it. She expressed the revelations that every recovered liberal discovers, me included.
Essentially, any liberal who actually takes three steps back from the liberal mind lock, and makes an honest evaluation of modern liberalism will be aghast at the degraded state of that political movement.
And, the further one steps back from liberalism to get a better look, the uglier the whole picture becomes. If you keep going, you finally see a picture that astonishes, infuriates, and saddens, all at the same time.
At that point, you really see the razor wire and the guard towers of the liberal mind control plantation in plain view.
Sadly, those still on the inside see a distorted view of the world from that side of the fence. It’s so bad, that they don’t see the fence at all, and think you’re a crackpot for trying to bring it to their attention.
No one has a greater appreciation for the freedom of patriotic conservatism, than a recovered liberal.

I appreciate that. I’ve considered soliciting the stories of other conservative converts and compiling something that illuminates and explains the whole experience for those still enslaved by liberalism.

There is also a time to stand tall regardless of the cost.

I think that a great many Americans are slowly coming to grips with having to face that time in the not-so-distant future.
