Beware! That folding knife in your pocket may turn you into a criminal if the Obama administration gets its way. Although there has been a lot of fear and speculation that the new administration wants to take your guns, the most pressing threat now is actually to your pocket knives. With the changing of the guard at U.S. Customs, that agency has now embarked on redefining "switchblades" under federal law to include a wide variety of one hand opening knives that never were intended to be prohibited. In fact, many of the knives U.S. Customs now seek to prohibit under the Federal Switchblade Law had not even been invented at the time of its enactment!
This new proposed U.S. Customs regulation is so broad that thousands of pocket knives will fall under its sweep and millions of knife owners will be affected. The problem is not simply that imports will be banned (which is bad enough), but that the "agency determination" will be used by domestic courts and law enforcement to determine what a "switchblade" is under both federal and state laws. Many states, including New Hampshire, fail to define switchblades and simply rely on the federal definition.

The purpose of government is to secure rights. Some people who have control of government misuse government for their own purposes, but that is not the fault of the government any more than it is the fault of a gun when someone misuses it for the purpose of murder.
The fact is, we all need to run out and buy pocket knifes, if you don't have one go out and get one, if you have one or two buy more. Then when we impeach this POS we can bring back the import of pocket knifes.

The liberals have learned from the United Nations. They want to tell us how to teach our kids, how to pray, they want to take our guns and knives, deed control of our rivers and waterways to the UN, and also give the UN control of all our national parks. The purpose of government is SUPPOSED TO BE what you said. In reality the purpose of government has devolved into what I said. The purpose of government at all levels in the USA today is to extract wealth from the serfs and squander it on what the bureaucrats and politicians deem most likely to be beneficial to themselves meanwhile keeping the jackboot firmly on the necks of the citizens.
