Some Myths About the Quranic Science Written by Mumin Salih Tuesday, 02 June 2009

Islamic Woodooo Recently, Muslims scholars started to falsely claim that the Quran foretold many scientific discoveries that were not known in its time. None of the Muslims’ claims stands scientific or logical analysis. One wonders how the Muslim scholars dare to make such claims despite the obvious contradiction between the Quran and science. The answer to this question is that Muslim scholars became alarmed during the last decades as an increasing number of ordinary Muslims started to learn modern science. To pre-empt any suspicion about the contradictions between the Quran and science, the Muslim scholars started to claim that the Quran actually was ahead of time in science but early Muslims didn’t understand it. The strategy of the Muslim scholars is deception, pure lies and word games.

This article investigates only four of the most common claims that Muslims make about the Quran and science. It often escapes the minds of the Muslims that the existence of only one error in the Quran is a proof that the book is not divine and that Islam is a hoax. 1. Splitting the moon

The claim: according to the Quran, Mohammed made the moon to split into two halves and then glued them together. Fourteen hundreds years later, Nasa confirmed that splitting.

This extraordinary claim is based on verse:

Q.54:1 “The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder”.

The verse describes an event that allegedly took place in Mecca when a few Meccan Arabs asked Mohammed to split the moon as a Najjarproof to them that he was a prophet. Mohammed simply made the moon split into two halves, one half on each side of the mountain Hira! However, this extraordinary cosmic event did not impress those Arabs who accused Mohammed of performing one of his magic tricks.

The irony is that the above myth was propagated by a Muslim scientist, more precisely a geologist, who was qualified in the UK! Dr. Zaghloul Al Najjar is an Egyptian who made a fortune from his appearances on Islamic TV channels. He is happy to turn his back to all that he learned at university and make the above false claim on Aljazeera television, the Islamists’ TV platform. For the sake of Allah, Dr. Al Najjar went one step further as he shamelessly lied to his audience and claimed that Nasa scientists have discovered that the moon was split into two halves and glued together!

Nope! That was easy. :)

They claim all that the Byzantines et al did as their own. I noticed the ‘great orator’ supports them in this lie.

The problem with myths is their simultaneous pliablity and popularity.

In the Name of Allah, The Compassionate, The Merciful

The Hour is nigh, and the moon split. But if they see a sign, they turn away and say. “This is evident Magic.” Qur’an 54:1-2

MATERIALIST philosophers and their absurd imitators, who attempt to cast a shadow over such a moon-like miracle of Muhammad (S) by vicious misgivings, say, “If the splitting of the moon had occurred, it would have been known to the whole world and narrated on all the books of history.”

OUR ANSWER: The splitting of the moon was demonstrated as an evidence of prophethood. It happened instantaneously, before a certain group of deniers at a time of night when people were asleep. There were, at the same time, obstacles that prevented others from witnessing this event, such as fog, clouds, and the time differences between parts of the world. Furthermore, science had not spread at the time, so that researches were very limited. This miracle therefore, was not intended to be witnessed all over the world and to be narrated by all historians.

Now listen to the following Five Points that will clear the clouds of misgiving concerning the miracle of the splitting of the moon.

Here’s a little snapshot of Point Four:

Yet thoughtless rejecters say, “It did not occur, as it is not mentioned in the histories of such people as the Chinese, Japanese, and Americans.” A thousand curses upon such bootlickers of the Western philosophers!

“I have been known to debate with our muslim brethren about the wisdom of their religion and need all the ammo I can get.”

I’m guessing you debate them on a forum and not up front and in their face otherwise it’s curtains for you. :)

God bless you for that...your life is in danger...careful!

Here’s the professor pictured above, recapping a story about a student who couldn’t believe the Moon miracle, when he was teaching in Cardiff, Wales - this is an excerpt:

[...]

So,one day ALLAH made me sit to watch TV. It was a talk show between a British commentator and three American astronautics specialists. The show host was blaming the scientists for spending thriftily over space trips at a time when earth is suffering hunger, poverty, diseases and backwardness. He was telling them, it would have been more feasible to allocate this kind of money for reconstruction of earth. To this argument, the three men answered defending their position that such technology is widely applied in many wakes of life such as medicine, industry and agriculture. They added that the money is never wasted but it rather supported the development of highly advanced technology.

During their dialogue, they mentioned the trip in which a man landed on the moon surface as it consumes the the largest cost which comes to more than US $100.000.000.000. The British TV anchor screamed saying what kind of thrift is this? A hundred thousand million dollars just to plant the American flag on the moon surface? They answered no; the objective was not to plant the American flag but rather to study the interior composition of the moon. We actually came to a finding that would cost us double folds of this amount for people to believe and yet they will never believe. The show host inquired what is this fact? They replied: One day this moon was split and then reattached. The show host again probed: how did you realize that? The scientists responded about finding a belt of transformed rocks cutting the moon from its surface to core and then to the surface again. The stated saying: we consulted with earth scientists and geologists who explained that such phenomenon would never occur unless this moon one day split and then reattached.

The British Muslim man said: I jumped out of my chair saying ALLAH (SWT) forced the Americans to spend more than a hundred billion dollars to prove to Muslims a a miracle that took place 1400 years ago for Mohamed (PBUH)? This religion must be the truth. He added: I went back to the Quran and recited Surat Al Qamar, which was my gate for accepting Islam.

Islam was founded in 627 AD, 1,382 years ago. Christianity was founded approximately 30 AD, 1,979 years ago. Where was Christianity in the era when it was as old as Islam is today—say 1400 to 1500 AD? The development of movable type made possible the Gutenberg Bible, 1455; the Sistine Chapel was built, 1481; Joan of Arc was burned, 1431; Pope Sixtus IV established the Spanish Inquisition, 1478; Pope Innocent VIII issued a papal bull authorizing the Dominicans to prosecute witchcraft in Germany, 1484.

Christianity adapted and evolved. Can Islam?

The Koran was the invention of Mohammed therefore is an artificial religion without a spiritual soul. The Koran has denial in the place of a heart, since it despises the very ‘elements’ of its construction, which is the Old and the New Testament.

Spyrido Zambelius - The Koran is “an undigested, unintegrated mixture of the Old and the New Testament, a monstrous mixture of Judaism and Christianity, decorated with fictitious tales, that please or surprise the imagination of semi-wild peoples, while from the start to the end it emits political rage and religious frenzy” (see Zambelius, Byzantine Studies, Athens 1857, pp. 169-70).

Manuel II Palaeologus writes that peoples who followed Islam “were deceived and forced by Mohammed, who promised them victory against Christians (cf. Manuel Palaeologus, Epitaph to his brother Theodorus Palaeologus, PG 156.220). Ostrogorsky (Byzantine History) writes that “Mohammed [was not a prophetic but a political figure, he] was creating the foundations of a religious and political union of Arabs [i.e., of a religious union simply as a means to the political unity and expansion]. His work, although spiritually poor and underdeveloped, contained a primitive urge and a huge dynamism.”

Ibn Khaldun - “Watch how all the countries of the world, when conquered by Arabs, saw their civilization being destroyed, their population scattered, even the earth of their ground destroyed”.

Muhammad was/is bereft of human compassion. He was an obsessed man with his dreams of grandiosity and could not forgive those who stood in his way. Muhammad was a narcissist like Hitler, Saddam or Stalin. He was astute and knew how to manipulate people, but his emotional intelligence was less evolved than that of a 6-year-old child. He simply could not feel the pain of others. He brutally massacred tens of thousands of innocent people and pillaged their wealth. His ambitions were big and as a narcissist he honestly believed he was entitled to do as he pleased and commit all sorts of crimes and his evil deeds justified. Muslims have copied his narcissist traits through study of his one so-called miracle - the koran. Rid the world of that book and.....

“For some reason I am reminded of St.Francis preaching to the buzzards, vultures and other unclean birds..”

and...filthy father of lies.

Islam began as a pack of lies, lies on the continuum, and will end a lie. Spain knew them well and purged them from their country. Today they’re constantly being reminded how barbaric they were for having done such wicked thing - it’s because of this vilification that Europe won’t do anything about them today - to their detriment. Imagine one giving away ones country for fear of been looked on as ‘haters’...

I appreciate your scholarship. I read Robert Spencer's book so you're preaching to the choir. But recognizing Islam as the con game of a 7th century flimflam artist doesn't make it go away.
